Up until recently, I served with the Altar Guild at the church where I practiced. When there is any consecrated wine left at the end of the service, it must be consumed, or poured directly onto the ground. Usually after our services, the members of the AG would share it, which meant about a sip apiece. In some churches, it would be considered the priest's duty.
It must have been a lighter day than expected.
