Good! That is just fine with me. I doubt Joe has a problem with it either.

Let us know when they are out so we can get copies.

I was going to buy a copy of one of Joe's books...can't find them anywhere...are they self published?

I found your publisher...Publish America. They did not edit your book. Many spelling, cap, and comma errors.

Dick had a book printed by publish America. He wanted a few copies for his family.

I guess PA is okay if one just wants to see their work in print.
I would suggest anyone using PA put their work here in the forum first.
Does your writing program have spell check? If so, you should use it.

PA published my books. A professional publisher edited both. They are beautiful. They are my legacy to my family. Covers were designed by a professional artist.

I am happy.

The radiology oncology department loved the gift of my books today.

We do what we want. Joe's a good person.

Tonight is the night of the Christmas story and I don't really care who published it.

Domenic, let us know when you get that big contract. Up to that point, you are one of us, except you don't get how writing can be part of your heart and soul.

It is sort of like the show Chorus Line. It took some of those trying out a while to get the idea.

Love ya, Domenic, on this special night.

Love, Carol

Dear Carol,
Last night I dreamed that I had bought a big mansion from some person named Rivera. It had lovely rooms, decorated in many styles. One bathroom was purple with pink speckled patches. The whole bottom floor opened out onto the sea. What a peaceful place it was, and beautiful.

I wish you such a feeling as I had in that dream. No worries. No feeling of time. No pain. No conflict. Peace.

Tomorrow is Christmas day and the day after is your aniversary. You have made it to the goal you set.

Do not worry about message board disputes and hostilities. They are flashes that soon fade and are forgotten.

Everyone wants their words to be remembered. Some would like to say that their words are better because they believe them to be so. Some may have better sentence structure, a clinincal grammar and punctuation, but if their story or the presentation of their subject is without imagination and soul, it will be boring. Ordinary words that tell a beautiful story in a simple way that the reader can see with the inner eye, are dynamic.

Keep on writing, dear friend.

My best wishes and love on this Christmas Eve.

Love,
Betty

Yes I do get it...that is why I want the best for my work.

Domenic, you are kinda falling in that category of people who spend copious amounts of time berating PA authors.

I'm with two NY publishers; Cengage and Prentice-Hall. I also find charm in some PA books. Some are "off," but so what? They met the goals their authors had.

So what's your point?

PostSubject: Re: Domenic   Domenic - Page 2 EmptyThu Dec 24, 2009 7:42 pm

I just finished writing the best entry, and I managed to lose the whole thing. I hate it when that happens. I will try to recreate the gist of it.

Domenic, the chatterbox is an important part of this site because it is where we come to get to know each other, so that we can trust each other enough to put our creations on the line so that we can get positive - albeit sometimes critical (which can be a good thing when it's coming from a positive perspective) - input on how we are doing.

You would know why Betty writes to Carol to reassure her that everything is fine here. You might even know why it is so important to me that I was invited to my daughter's Christmas Eve tamalela tonight. You might not know that a tamalela is a tradition here in San Antonio, or that it is simply a party where tamales are the main dish, or that a tamale consists of thick cornmeal mush wrapped around a filling of beef, chicken, or beans, and seasoned with Mexican seasonings.

You might know how important this is to me, personally, because my daughters and I went through a difficult time after their dad and I divorced.

Tonight, their dad, his current wife, one of his stepsons and his family, both my daughters and their husbands and I spent a delightful evening together, eating not only Lynn's tamales, but her sister Susan's queso con puerco (hot cheese dip with pork sausage), and my crudites with frijoles refritos (refried beans). My ex talked to me about his recent back surgery. Our daughter Susan got the courage to tell him that she and her husband are moving to Virginia in less than a week, and his wife and I joked together about the grandchildren.

Such things are important to many of us. From sharing ourselves and supporting each other, we learn that it is OK to put our work out and listen to the criticisms, and know whom we can trust to have our best interests at heart even when they are being critical of our work.

Not everyone who comes here has those best interests in mind. Trusting can take some time. In the meantime, we chat.

delicious. You make a point in your writing what
we're all about , were a family of writers and friends
who try to help each other in the good times and the
bad times, like Carol isn't well we try to cheer her up,
I get bulletins every day from her site and I look
forward to them to know how she's doing and I know
angels are watching over her....

Cheers..Joe
