| "Consider gag gifts as stocking stuffers. Bright colored eyeshadow for that outdoorsy tomboy; "Santa's coal" bubble gum made to look like a piece of coal; teddy bear stickers for your 17-year-old skateboarding son. Or start with a silly stocking stuffer that can circulate around to a different family member's stocking each year." "Tuck in gift cards and gift certificates. Even a modest budget can support a $5 gift card for coffee or a smoothie. Other popular ideas include gift certificates for books, movies, restaurants, and clothing stores. For college students or young adults newly on their own, consider grocery cards or gift cards from Target or Bed Bath and Beyond." |

| I hate gag gifts! Total waste of money. Does anyone really like them? Re the gift certificates, my college daughter let me know that she doesn't want to be told where to shop. If she's going to be given cash, she wants real cash, lol. I was never a fan of gift certs myself, either, for the same reason. Plus I end up losing or never using them, if I seldom go to that store. Starbucks is the only gift cert I had any use for. I gave out three of them this year. |

LC...
Stocking stuffers....Chocolates, jewelry, small photos in frames, ornaments for their tree, small books-I've seen them in borders their like 3 X 3 many are interesting. Small gadgets, World Market has so many small food items that would fit in stockings.....
Cheers..Joe... |

| LC what ever you do don't put that Bear in a stocking! Bears don't look good in stockings.
Ask any man what to put in a stocking and he'll almost always say "Great Legs". |

| Apples, oranges, unshelled nuts - we always got those in our stockings rather than candy. Dave's in-laws put in decorative night lights. I still have one in my kitchen that looks like a miniature still life painting. Tiny books work well, too.

| I like practical things in stockings--lip balm, gum, etc. --anything that person might use routinely. Not a waste of money that way... Oh, and always chocolate. |
