My brother Empty
PostSubject: My brother   My brother EmptySun Nov 22, 2009 8:38 am

I just received an email from my brother. He had gall bladder surgery a couple of weeks ago. He told me today that, during the surgery, the doctor saw something suspicious, and took a biopsy. The biopsy did show some cancer cells, so he had a PET scan that indicated other sites, including his lung and adrenal glands. A biopsy on the adrenal gland shows the the lung was probably the original. There is good news. Had he not had gall bladder surgery, it would have been some time before the cancers were detected. Now, all of them are still very small-too small for any surgical procedures. He starts a series of Chemo treatments tomorrow, four in all, each three weeks apart, and then further testing to see if more are needed.

Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Will do Ann.
He's not going to feel too bright for a while that chemo really takes it out of you.
It's good news that they've got it early though.

Sometimes challenges can be seen as blessings. We have a good friend who had an automobile accident and in tests on his injuries they discovered he had pancreatic cancer. That was over 10 years ago and he is still alive. I tell him he must have the longest survival record for pancreatic cancer, and he just keeps breaking that record!!

Hi Ann
Just seen this post about your brother.
God Willing he will recover, he has had a blessing already in that the problem has been diagnosed before it has got out of hand.
God bless,
Luigie
