FYI for PA authors

I have been checking the B&N online site lately, to see if the price had changed to reflect the recent drop. when I checked this morning, the new price was, indeed, there, but I had a difficult time finding the listing because the title had been changed from A Myth in Action: The Heroic Life of Audie Murphy to just A Myth in Action. It wasn't showing up on either title or subject searches. I have sent emails to both the corrections department at B&N and to PA customer support. Hopefully, the corrections will be made soon.

Those of you who have books through PA that were included in the price drop may want to check to see if there have been any errors in you book information.

Arirang: The Bamboo Connection is a little reduced, but not much: $24.95 B&N and $22.95 B&N members price.

The exciting news is that Ghost Orchid is stocked at Barnes and Nobles in at least two locations in Southwest Florida, Estero and Bonita Springs, through their New York office (without me tramping from store to store.....) so hope springs eternal.

Yes, that's not the problem. When they shortened the title, any reference to Audie Murphy was lost. Now, if you do a search for books about Audie Murphy, or for books with Audie Murphy in the title, the book doesn't show up. Without that link, it doesn't matter what the price is, the book won't show up in any search that a potential buyer might make. The numbers at B&N have been dropping since the price increase. They started dropping on Amazon when the "buy" button went down. When Amazon put the button back, they reduced the price as well, and the numbers have been going up. I've been watching closely for the price change to go into effect at B&N, feeling the numbers there would start back up, too. But they won't if this latest problem isn't fixed.

I did get a preliminary message from PA, telling me what to do next. I did that. We'll just have to see what happens next, and how long it takes. I had some related problems with both sites just after the book came out in 2006, and they were solved pretty quickly. Hopefully, this one will be as well.

I don't know if the price reflects a reduction by PA or by the seller.
If it is a reduction by PA, do you think they got the message about overpricing or is this a temporary thing?

I too have received numerous emails about special deals, matching your orders with free copies. Buy one get one free is BS. Why not just reduce the price per copy and stimulate sales to the public? Oh, I forgot. I'm PA's consuming public. Expecting profits from my purchases will be a long wait.

that is good news. I noticed a reduction on Barns & Noble but there is no reduction on Amazon.

Amazon has been selling it at the $17.95 price since they put the "buy" button back. I guess the $24.95 regular price looks like a better deal. Sales there have been improving steadily ever since.
