Doesn't it amaze you that Castro has been in power over 50 years? I spoke to someone who visited there in the last few years, how even food was scarce and people could not speak against the government, but music is alive and well, and when the pope visited in the late 1990s, the people turned out in tens of thousands, singing hymns they hadn't been allowed to sing in many decades.
It is a mysterious country with an even more mysterious past.
