I come in every now and again to read comments.

dtpollard...I wish a book such as yours would change the way people are. I don't think a million books will do it. In my book, "The Second Monkey Trial...who killed Jesus, all the characters are prejudice, one against the other.
I think our greatest weakness is we all believe we are good.
I was talking to a Muslim friend. The word Muslim has come to be linked to "Those who kill in the name of God." I was surprised to learn, the word Muslim means: "One who believes in God." I was more surprised to learn Muslims also believe Jesus is the son of God...and, they believe in the bible as the word of God along with the Koran. (being the last of three books from God.)
I have been prejudice against everything at one time or other...I wonder which way my badness will turn in the future...in my effort to be good.

I placed them there myself using their conversion tool that can be downloaded. It seems that something is different now. The message there now mentions something about not being able to do new publishers on mobi and kindle, but I was already signed up and put the new book up on both. Of course amazon owns mobi.

DK, I applied and after a request, sent in a copy of my contract from my audio publisher. They determined that it met their defintion of substantial advance and I was accepted. I also paid the fee as well.

They also stated that in lieu of an advance that meets their criteria, which I don't know, book sales figures could also qualify.

Thanks for the info. I have followed your promotional efforts since the days at PAMB, and I admire the progress you have made with your books. You really helped many aspiring authors.

Mystery Writers of America uses the same guidelines: a list of accepted publishers and for others either a substantial advance or a decent number of sales. The exception for MWA is having a story published in either major mystery magazine, Alfred Hitchcock or Ellery Queen, because having a story accepted by either is as difficult, or more so, than having a book released by one of the publishers on their list.

This is good information. When seeking a publisher, it would be useful to have the lists.

MWA published a list about a year ago but I didn't keep it. I should have just for reference.
