| 9/9/2009 Hi Everyone... If you were told by a Dr. you had only 48 hours to live what would you do ?.... I'll go first...... First I would let my sister-in-laws know how much I love them. Second I would have the most lavish dinner party with all my favorite foods, chicken, filet mignon, merloet wine, strawberry short cake, shrimp, my favorite music from the 30's , 40's and 50's ... Watch all my favorite TV shows, like I Love Lucy, The Golden Girls, Law And Order....I would eat as much rich chocolate I could... Let my pet know I loved her with all my heart... Cheers....Joe... |

| Brew, Your idea of using the credit card gave me my morning chuckle. Is that similar to attending the funeral of someone you owe money and writing them a check? |

| I would eat cheese omelets and mashed potatoes. I would ask the doctor for a refund--seems like he/she spent a lot of time and money to give me such short notice. |

| Never ask for another opinion. I did once when my doc said there was nothing wrong with me. I asked for a second opinion and he said ok you are one ugly son of a B**** |

| I think I'd wait 48 hours and then kill my doctor. |

| I had a last 24 hours of life experience with a pulmonary embolism where I was rushed to the ER where very frightened looking doctors greeted me. Then we went to the ICU where my family had gathered to "say good-bye," but were not doom and gloom but making jokes and conversing with the doctor about hockey and swimming. (Up to that point I had decided it was best if I just left this life then and there and saved them the pain of a long dying process, but this group just keeps on going, so I decided if possible I'd stay.) From there it was an ambulance ride to the next city, and tests, and the next day more doctors etc.
So that's how I spent what I thought was the last 24 hours of my life.

| I thought I had come to the end, just before and during my brain surgery.
I did some serious talking to God.
I am still here.
Very glad to be here
I think of Ted Kennedy. I feel he was the greatest of the family. He had to bury his brothers and they never knew what hit them.
He lived with knowledge of his end for quite sometime. He did a lot of good. |

| Dear Carol, I feel your journey. I think I would do the same. Once in a while I feel that if it were my last day I could deal with it. But then, there are all the people I love who would have to, too. I would save them that for as long as I could. Not that I am that wonderful and important, but that they do love me so. I love life, tool. Love, Betty |

| It was Sept 11, 2008, so we are coming to that day when I thought my life was ending.
I am all emotional about this whole anniversary of what I thought was the last day of my life!!!
My family and their arriving with joy for life helped me hang in there. They knew that, Betty, and I knew what they were doing. The word had gone out and family from 14 to over 40 arrived from school, work, even a doctor's appointment.
I live for these people, to see their successes, support them when things don't go well.
Love, Carol |

| Since I already do whatever I want to do if I want it badly enough, I can't think of much I'd do as a result of being told I just have 48 more hours. I'd probably spend half of it wondering what to do.
That said, I'd probably not go into work.
I like Sylvia Browne's claim that we do life over and over, trying to get it right. She says we pick our challenges before each incarnation. If that's the case, being that I'd have another chance to do what I didn't do this time, I'd probably just watch TV or something. |

| Alice, knowing the court system, if the doctor was in error, by the time the case came up, what would a life sentence mean? |
