Ever see the movie "Treasure of the High Sierra" with Humphrey Bogart? Sure you have. Remember the character he played, Luther Dobbs?

How could the character have been developed differently and still be believable? How could Bogey have made him into a sympathetic character instead of showing a man having a melt-down as part of a morality play about greed?

In short, how could the character have been played differently while still achieving the same result as a morality play?

Your thoughts and ideas are most welcome!
