| Crusades annoy me almost as much as folks willing to assume the prone position to allow crusaders to roll over them--all for the sake of keeping peace, of course.
[How's that for a run-on sentence?]

- Merri,
How come you are so sensitive here and so thick skinned over on the PA threads at AW? -- where you are surrounded by the rudest members on the AW forum. Give me a break.
...and stop reading the posts pasted from the PAMB -- that is a disgusting thing to do! Because this board's intention is very different than the Bewares and Background board on AW. Almost every time a new person has posted on this site without stating who they are, where they've come from, what they've written, etc., their thoughts/ideas/posts are discounted and people are often quite rude to them. That is each person's individual choice; however, I thought this board was intentionally meant to be different than all the other boards out there. Maybe I was wrong. That's okay, I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again. I won't comment on your idea of what is disgusting. You're entitled to your viewpoint, as am I. |

Carol, you are exactly right. I do like the people here and enjoy reading about your lives and experiences. |

Alice, you may remember that I sent you a PM or posted somewhere on one of the threads that I was never afraid of you. I simply wanted to change the direction that particular thread was going in and posted about my hesitation in meeting folks that I only knew about online. I have met quite a few people in real life that I have known online for quite a while. I am not afraid of you. ** giggling madly ** |

| Merri,
I think the only folks we pounce on are those who come in here proclaiming how much money they make and saying we are stupid because we don't do the same as they do.
Writers are at different levels--just as lawyers, doctors and teachers. Glad you are not scared of me I was by Everett and Marysville 4 times each yesterday. |

| Merri - I believe you will find the only time a newcomer or anyone else is jumped on is when they come here, act superior and tell everyone how great they are without identifying themselves or saying what it is they have written. The recent case is a good example. If they want to remain anonymous, that's fine until they start putting others down and making ridiculous claims. We would be foolish to allow that without retaliating. You can't let a bully mistreat you or your friends. When the bully won't identify himself it compounds the problem.

| I'm not in a position to judge a poster's mental stability, nor would I be so presumptuous. You're correct. We do see things differently. |

| I tried to delete the two offensive posts since my points were taken much differently than intended by two people for whom I have respect. However, I can't seem to delete them. Shelagh, please delete the two posts on this page that refer to the fact that some people who post (no person in particular nor even on this board) may be of a mind that is bent on disruption for various unknown reasons. |

| We are merely trying to snap them back into reality, DK. I worry about confused folks.
If they are really messed up they might get hit by a car.

| I didn't see your deleted posts, DK, but from the one that remains I believe you were saying the people who come here lecturing us and making claims they refuse to back up should be treated kindly because they may be having mental problems. You may recall we tried that on another board. It didn't work because it eventually grew heated and the board was destroyed. We just won't allow them to do that here. I agree that they are having problems. In face to face encounters with such people it pays to be cautious but it may be possible to see that they get help. On a messageboard that is impossible. The best - and even kindest - action to take is to drive them away. We can't cure their problem. If people like KDU would admit they lied, tell us who they are and ask to be allowed to remain I am sure they would be treated with respect and kindness up to the time the lecturing began again. |

| Dick & Alice, I just meant I am gullible in that I tend to take people at face value (and with a grain of salt) until I know otherwise. Obviously, the person in question was recognized by every one but me! |

| Everything Dick said is the honest truth. I will verify it.
He is 100% correct.
We need to get our act together and present a united front. This message board is not a treatment center for nuts. We ought to be able to trust each other faster than some newcomer. |
