| Well, my novel is out at last. You can check it out here: http://www.lulu.com/content/2048817 This is the front cover: These are some of the comments I have received about the opening three and a half chapters (approx 6,500 words): Impeccably written, creating a smooth flow to your opening chapters. Overall, the grammar and syntax was excellent. Good luck. I was intrigued by the premise of your story – it put me in mind of other novels centered round a literary mystery or controversy, like AS Byatt’s ‘Possession’ or Carol Shield’s ‘Mary Swann’. You write in a clear unfussy prose that is easy to read. You write very effectively, your ideas come across well. Good luck with this! Your premise is intriguing and so is your narrator. I had no idea where this was going – a plus – and I would have read on to find out. Thanks for a fascinating read!I now have an ISBN: 978-1-84799-667-1 |

| Shelagh,
Have you considered entering Power of Persuasion into the Writers' Digest International Competiton for self-published Books? The Grand Prize winner receives $3,000 in cash (OK not much, but better than a kick in the pants) plus the 10 copies of the winning book is submitted to major reviewers, including The New York Times, Washington Post, and Midwest Book Review and guaranteed distribution to bookstores plus various other prizes.
If you would like the Offical Entry form, let me know and I'll post it to you. |

| Yes, I noticed that several posts ago. Thank you. I always liked getting stars, as long as I wasn't seeing them behind closed eyes! |

| Shelagh,
May I suggest you send a copy of your book to your local BBC Radio Station. I did just that with Three Weeks and was rewarded with a half hour interview! |

| Great idea, Jenny. Did you send it to someone in particular, or producer, talk show host, or what ever? |

| Zada,
I just sent it to the BBC in Sheffield and two of their hosts contacted me. I appeared on both the breakfast show (albeit briefly) and then did a more indepth interview with one of their more senior programme hosts.
If, and when Chasing the Sandpiper is published, I plan on doing the same again. |

| That's great exposure Jenny! And good for you for contacting them - Marketing ourselves is one of those brave things that we have to do to get the word out. |

| Jenny I listened to your interview - what a treat! I feel I have been treated to a peak into who you are, and discovered that you are courageous, intelligent and kind woman. You also did an excellent job of explaining your journey into publishing; this is an excellent testimonial for you as an author, and also for the publishing companies. The gentlemen who interviewed you did an excellent job drawing out important elements of your journey, and you did a terrific job explaining them. I hope that Publish America also puts a link to it on their website. I think we all ought to be doing interviews so we can hear one another! |
