Reach for the Sky came, we loved it, then the dvd went bad --I emailed them--no answer.

I was gearing up for a protracted battle of "I don't and won't pay for garbage," but was too busy with the funeral service.

Yesterday a new perfect dvd arrrived. We finshed it and are going to have a party and show it to our friends.

Douglas Bader was indomitable.

Everyone should have this video and Dick's Normandy book. Thank you Shelagh 770134 Thank you Shelagh 748523

That's the way life comes and goes, Alice. Sad moments followed by moments of joy. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the film. My husband was badly injured in a motorcycle accident at the age of twenty-three. He had a promising career ahead of him as a possible international rugby player. Instead, he became an academic. As I type, he's working on the second edition of one of his books that will be out this November. The number of hours he puts into writing and producing anatomical drawings can never be recompensed by royalties -- a labour of love with few rewards. This is the first edition of the book (that took ten years to write):

A very interesting and complicated book, Shelagh. I am so glad your husband survived the cycle misshap.

I call them murdercycles.

Labours of love are often the best kind. Thanks for sharing that link.

I understand what your husband has done. I spent three years of nearly constant research on a book detailing high school football in Akron from 1892 through 1999. Twelve school involved, but the book contains the score of every game, records of coachs, league standings, all-city teams and a trememdous amount of text. Strictly a labor of love as the sales possibilities were 3,000 at most.
