Sounds interesting, Jerry...as far as it goes.
I would REALLY suggest you give a little more exposition here, more of the story. You've got images that don't tie together very well (what are the union soldiers doing with the buffalo, etc.)
The easy solution would be some titling. you're just using cards, but you could be dropping titles over those outdoor shots, putting in more exposition while making it more dramatic.
Did you do this with PhotoStory3?

Thanks for your suggestions, Lin. This was a product put out by the publisher. I had little input and the multi media specialist said it would be limited to 30 seconds. I would have liked to see a longer trailer, myself but I have to work with this unless, and until, I make another trailer myself, which I hope to do in the future.

if you have the original wmv file for this you can easily add some titles. Be a good exercise. The lerngth isn't that bad, but you could sure utilize it a little more.
Not to overly pimp here, but I think you could really profit from my video-making manual... a downloadable eBook that sells for $6 at http://adoroworks.com Especaially if you use windows xp or vista.
That's a pretty cool little thing at the end, where the fly turnd into the period.

I am working on a book trailer for Marie and I. Its only 30 seconds long but gets the point across. I am just having problems with those darn transitions.

Sounds fun, mj And if you can do something in 30 seconds, you're ahead of the game.
For what it's worth, my advice is to go very lightly on transitions and to use a limited palette of them unless you have one that serves a useful purpose to what you're trying to do.
Something it takes awhile for many to realize is that adding a transition actually subtracts time from the video because of the overlap between the two clips or images.
If you want a long fade from one shot to another you sometimes have to length the clip or image to come out at the same time length. Images can be "stretched" to whatever length, but sometimes you can add "slowdown" to a clip to accomplish that.
Another unsolicited tip: YouTube often nips off the end of videos so it's good to have a little "dead space" at the end, probably by inserting a black card that extends the video a few seconds past the end of the audio.

Hi! I'm sure you can very well make another version of your trailer. There are numerous free video authoring tools in the internet. Check out animoto.com
