| Are you a people pleaser? Do you dress, eat, walk, talk to please others or yourself? Just curious! |

| The only one I try to please is Jackie so she will keep preparing supper. After 32 years I am still trying and one day hope to succeed. I have given up trying to please little hamster Sophie because she made up her mind about me long ago. I do try to please the doctor at the VA because she is the greatest, and do my best to annoy the Medicare doctor because he expects it. With other people I'm a bear - try to trip them with my cane or bump them with my rollator. |

| Dick, I have to ask, what does Jackie prepare for supper that keeps you working so hard to please her? Ann |

| Dear Alice, If I had hampsters, they would be named, Bubble and Squeak! I have just named our lone, at large, rooster, who flies willy nilly into the oak to roost, Cogburn. He loves that! He smiles his John Wayne smile and walks his walk every chance he gets. I think he has cap guns under his wings and is just waiting for the desperado guys to show up. In the secret of his heart, he longs for Katherine Hepburn. Little does he know that I am she in disguise. Love, Betty |

| Dear Alice, I just noticed your original question. I am a little distracted, forgive me! No, No, No, No. Dress. Snort! I have not seen one since 1972. That would be a funeral or a wedding. Since then, I gave them up and just wander around in whatever comes to mind for the day. Mostly shorts, but since my legs got so unusually skinny, I wear those things that go to the knee. They go good with my black tennis shoes and my ankle white socks. Eat.......Do people really eat to please other people? Say you go to a restaurante, (Pier) and the love of your life is eating raw snails, would you? could you? dare you puke when he slurps one up and risk being tagged as a non-cool old bat. My mind boggles. Walk....I feel so ambulatory! One foot goes in front of the other, the hips come along just in time! My back is a bit hunchy but it keeps my head up. Ah! If I could walk like those people going down the runways with the stilleto heels and the hips thrust forward and the timing just right! Their noses hold them up. I hope you knew that. If ever they let their nose fall an inch, their whole equalibrium is evaporated and they tumble down in a blob. As for talking... Out here, during the day, I talk to the dogs and myself, the woods and the animals. I please my self. First, there is no human to hear me at all. I talk to the wind, the animals, the grass, the trees, the clouds, and myself. Not a one of us knows much, and each of us goes on pleasing our own self, smiling in our bliss. At evening, David comes home. You can imagine how nice that is. Love, Betty |

| Alice asks: 1 Are you a people pleaser? 2 Do you dress, eat, walk, talk to please others or yourself? 3 Just curious!
1. Sometimes when I leave a place people are pleased. Does that count? 2. I dress to keep warm, eat to survive, walk to go places and I'm beginning to talk to myself. Sometimes it's my only attentive audience. 3. Somewhere in my ancient past I recall it being said that "curiosity killed the cat." Guess I'll have to protect my cats from that curiosity thing.

| All I can say, Betty, is if it was okay for the president of the United States to throw up on the lap of a Japanese dignitary, then go right ahead when your dinner companion eats a raw snail. Your rooster sounds like a fine fellow, just hope he doesn't make that rooster sound at first light. |

| I always used to do things to please other people. Then I turned 40 and realized that my life should not revolve around them all the time.
Now I am a happier person, and like Abe, have learned that I can actually leave a place and the people there are pleased.
I dress to please myself, but admit that I really do like to dress up - I feel good when I put on something nice, have a sharp crease in my pants, or a pair of swanky shoes on. |

| Alice, if I am about pleasing people, I'm not very good at it.
When I was younger, and had the body for it, I liked dressing fashionably; today, I dress for comfort.
I've learned that my body does better when I eat to please it, rather than following the rules that those "people" say I ought to follow.
I work hard at not talking like a Texan. I don't know about walking, I just walk.
I will tell you something else that might surprise my cyberfriends. I'm a weeper. Weddings, movie endings, historic inagurations. My eyes are still red. I'll say more in current events as I get my thoughts together.

| I gave up trying to please people long ago, even my husband and children. They seem to like me better since I stopped trying to please. My walking has become slower, my voice has become lower. I love clothes but have never had much of a fashion sense. I have been working hard at becoming more spontaneous. Love, Carol |

| Are you a people pleaser? Do you dress, eat, walk, talk to please others or yourself? Just curious! Yes, I am. Everyone that knows me knows that I do all that I can to please folks. I dress only in what I think will be approved of by those I am likely to encounter when I leave the house. I carry small cards that I pass out in restraurants which gives each person there the opportunity to vote on what I should order. I walk with head down so as not to offend anyone, and always behind whomever I am walking with. I always talk in a way that will not offend anyone, with my eyes cast downward so I will not look anyone in the face. and I never allow myself to express my own opinion about anything. In these small ways I do what I can to please every single person I come in contact with, every single day of the year. . . . . . . . . . hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha |

| These are all great responses. I think I am like Betty. some days I don't even dress in street clothes. I have a velour 'lounger that I am very fond of and goes nicely over my nightgown. The elements and animals don't care at all what I look like. When I am around others, I try to keep my mouth somewhat still. I tend to say exactly what I think! I have learned some tact through the years though. |

| Zada, Open your mouth wide and let your opinions roll--you are just as entitled as the next person.
I still like you even though you like Arkansas. |
