                    Harry..

It's very sad when a child has to live like that...It's up to every
Govt. of every country to make sure no one  should live like and that children should
 have an education..

                                                                            Cheers...Joe

We are living this age in which the charity and humanity are most holy idea and word, It could be good, but with no doubt  in many cases  it carries out also great corruptions. When I read the article "why foreign aid is hurting Africa" by Dambisa Moyo, in which she tells how the aid for Africa is turning as a deadly aid for Africa, I think that this seems to be the case with the gipsies, too. For, as far as I know- a million after million have  sent from EU, to Romania and Slovenia to be improving the life and educates of the gipsies, where the money has gone- no one knows for sure, I just think- maybe the Moloch eats them

Shelagh saw something that many would miss.  The children appear happy.  Children easily adapt.
Living conditions are primitive and that is not the problem.  Early American settlers lived in primitive conditions.  Post-war people made do with what they had.  Food, shelter and clothing are the basic human needs.  Once that is satisfied one can consider other thing, i.e., education.
I've seen much worse living conditions with Refugees in Lebanon.
In this video, the greater problem expressed was discrimination.  That is nothing new even in our own country.  Apartheid is a on-going situation in the M.E.
Humans have the capacity to endure much hardship.  Hardship to some is a way of life.  Sitting on the outside looking in affects the onlooker more.
People don't want handouts, but rather an opportunity to become self-sufficient.  Providing aid to breach the gap is necessary, but not a long-term solution.
One can learn much from children.  They easily adapt and make the best of what they have.

Well said Abe, and it's totally true; 'Children easily adapt.' I well remember the living conditions just after the II war, the hungry and the shortage of everything. As long as the shortage and poverty were common, children adapt it, but if there live poor and rich by side, then there is the inequality. What, I wonder, is the ignorance of clean water. I remember how those wells could  find  lies downhill and the house and toilet uphill
