Another week, time for another update.

Republicans:

The RNC, faced with around twenty presidential candidates on the stage for the first debate, decided to the let the "networks" decide on who gets on stage. The first debate is hosted by Fox News so they get to decide, which makes this particular dream of Fox news, their own primary, about to come true. Fox promises equal time for those not the stage August 6th but those who aren't in on the first debate will be at a disadvantage going forward.

Jeb Bush: Bungled a softball question from Fox news and has been trying to pry his foot out of his mouth since. If you are Jeb supporter you have to shaking your head at how someone who wants to President could botch such a simple question. On top of that, he's not even officially declared so this doesn't inspire confidence in anyone come campaign season. Even worse, it's re-opened the Iraq War debate, something Jeb was hoping to avoid until much later on. Jeb can take some confidence in the fact that several of his would be opponents also managed to screw the same question up as well. I still think he'll be the eventual GOP nominee, he just needs to think before he speaks.

Chris Christie: Chris Christie may be the only person left on the planet who thinks he stands a chance and will run. It's hard to see why he would waste his time but lately he's spent more time in New Hampshire than back in his home state. He polling behind Carly Fiorina in New Hampshire and if that isn't a wake up call, I don't know what is. It may be that he's setting himself as the GOP Truth Speaker, using the campaign trail to preach what true conservatives want to hear. This has been done before, most recently by Mike Hukabee and probably what Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side will end up doing as well.

Bobby Jindal: He formed a exploratory committee this week and no one except his supporters seemed to care. Like Christie, he is deeply unpopular in his home state and may see the campaign trail as way to get away from Baton Rouge.

Lindsey Graham: May announce soon. He presents as a younger, more articulate John McCain, which may good or bad, depending on your perspective. The GOP badly wants an establishment candidate to win the nomination (see Romney, Mitt) but Graham isn't unlikely to be their savior.

Democratic:

Hillary Clinton: Despite being hammered by scandals both real and imagined by both the GOP and Fox News she continues to poll strongly. Looks unstoppable right now but November 2016 is a long, long way away.

Bernie Sanders: Continues to poll surprisingly strong for a Senator from a small New England state but again, it's a long road ahead.
