               We'll the gun is shot off and the race is on ! Let's see first we have
               Her royal highness, HRC Hillary Rodham Clinton , then Elizabeth 
               Warrren who claims she's not running but I don't believe it the other
                day I read some group has a petition with more than 100,000 signatures
               for her to run and then we have Chaffee the former Gov. of Rhode Island.
               We'll I'm afraid to say in my eyes their all loosers, now if we had a up and
               coming like John Kennedy then the tables are different, there's not one 
               woman I can think of...Can you ?

Good question, Alice.  The criteria some people use for selecting a President is rather dumb.  Wanting to have the first "Black" President or the first "Woman" President or whatever is not concentrating on their capabilities.  We are fortunate to have a President with intelligence, however being black has proved to be a handicap.  There are still many racists in our country that want him to fail.  It will take a strong woman to withstand strong opposition simple because she is a woman.  Woman have proven to be effective leaders in other countries.  They were not elected based on their sex, but rather on their intelligence and capabilities.  Let's elect someone who is intelligent and who has the interests of the citizens at heart.  As usual, money will play a role in who gets elected.  Unfortunately the money people will expect the President to return the favor.  Election reform is needed to negate the influence of the power brokers.

Joe, they have been talking about campaign reform for years.  Once in office, they forget their campaign promises.  Seems to me that the issue is used to get elected and once elected, they forget about it.  I don't expect anything to change.  Money remains the greatest factor in today's elections.

I agree, Joe.  Every time they cut services to those in need I think of the $billions spent on useless campaigns.  Disgusting.

I'm sick of it already.  Comparing Marco Rubio as "young and handsome" to Hillary who's "old and unattractive."  What is the matter with the reporters?  They are also responsible for sharing such nonsense and talking it to death.  Yes, Marco Rubio is handsome.  He also believes that abortion legislation is needed to prevent abortions since he is a good Catholic.  He also believes that sexual orientation is sinful when not heterosexual.  He also believes in a good many other religious practices that should be legislated.  At least John Kennedy had the smarts to not put his religion into his politics.  But times have changed.  The Republican party has adopted religion as legislation - a terrible thing for any country and one of the reasons the U.S. was founded - to separate politics from religion.

I am sick of the Republicans speaking for God and Patriotism and legislating religion and limited rights to vote or seek health care.  That's the very horrid source of the death and chaos still throughout the world, rule by religious decree.  The true followers of spiritual enlightenment favor helping the indigent and accept all faiths and humanity as perfect so long as they don't deprive the rights of others.  They don't legislate religious dogma but rather seek the laws to benefit society that chooses to live together instead of in isolation - seeking common interests not differences.  They legislate to protect this earth and all that's here as good stewards, not trammeling it with greed and profiteering.

DK,  Agree with your post.  If one were to compare Islam with Christianity as it is being handled by the GOP, there would be little difference.  Don't believe me, check it out.
Whenever any government is run by religious law there are problems.  It winds up as a particular sectarian decree.  People tend to reference the constitution when it suits.  The same can be said for the Bible.  Cherry picking passages that fit is common.  Separation of Church and State seems to be ignored. Since religion/church is integrated with the GOP (T-Party), they should be taxed.  That is a loop hole that should be plugged.  There should be no such thing as tax-free income.  All income should be taxed and taxed fairly.  The revenue is available to solve our debt and provide humantarian aid.  Tax the rich on the same basis the middle class.  I'm in favor of a flat tax.  Trickle down is a theory that has proven not to work.   

It is shocking to me  that the Republican hopefuls have no ideas about anything.  All they want to do is bash Hillary.

Campaigning for President is the four-year circus event.   If they remove the Elephants from the circus it may save ives.

How do you get rid of a party?

Bernie Sanders is running AS A DEMOCRAT. Yipee.

Abe, I fully agree that taxes need to be universal - no exemptions for anyone.  Non-profit 501 C3 is a joke in most cases - they have the highest paid executives of anyone.  Same for churches.  And donations should not be a deduction, either from taxes.  What poor person gets a deduction?

The fraud comes in all the exceptions, exclusions, exemptions, benefits, etc.  Benefits should occur elsewhere than from taxes.  If they want to reward parents with dependent exemptions then pass a specific law that pays people x amount for x amount of dependents from the universal collected taxes - and they better prove the dependency. 

501 C3 corporations need to figure taxes into their budgets and fund raise accordingly.  Same with payment to their personnel. It's all a big flim flam for those that know how to work the systems and only benefits a few struggling groups that also need to start with taxes in their budget.

Social security should be deducted from all income earned forever.  That would solve that problem - and income earned includes from investments that are currently not subject to social security taxes.

I'm glad to see Bernie Sanders run.  I hope he doesn't dillute the vote and throws in with the top candidate.  I love to hear him spit out his liberalism.  He is right 90% of the time.

I like what Bernie Sanders says.  He has raised his voice in congress on numerous occassions fighting for seniors, the poor and worked to protect the Vets.  He is against corporate welfare and pounces on the top 1% who rob people of jobs for profit. 
He is a Jew and has spoken out against the Apartheid in Israel.  I admire him for that.  Althought his religion should not be a factor, consider JFK being Catholic and all the rhetoric about that.  Or the furor over the Mormon Candidate.  One's religion should not play a role.  Serving the bests interests of all citizens and upholding the Constitution are, in my view, the key factors.  Having the ability (intelligence) to govern takes priority.  In the end, all the good intentions and promises doesn't mean that they can be accomplished.  It takes a supporting congress and senate to get things done.

Of all the candidates, Bernie Sanders represents my views best.  He will be maligned for his socialist agenda, however it may be a positive thing providing education to those who have been led to believe it is associated with communism.  Educations is more critical than ever.  Funding education (some see that as socialism) is good for the country.  No citizen living in what is declared to be the richest country on earth, should live in poverty.  Hilary has too much baggage.  I find it hard to visualize her as President.  Her tenure as Secretary of State did little if anything to improve her image.
