Ann's Update Thread

How are you, Ann?  Hope all is well.  You can update us here.

This afternoon I go ba k to the drs for new brain scans, before they begin radiation treatments. The treatments willbe every week day for two weeks, Monday through Friday.

Take plenty rest, Ann, to allow the treatment time to take effect. Sending all my very best positive vibes your way. 

Stay away from sick folks.  Love ya lots.  Thanks for the update.

Keep us informed, Ann.  As Shelagh said, positive vibes are sent your way.

Glad to have four days without appointments. The treatment begins Monday. Every weekday for two weeks. Chemo almost sounds better. One day every three weeks. But of course, the side effects will be more constant. At least I'll be at home. Hopefully, the two weeks will go quickly. The treatments won't be bad or lengthy, and The Cancer Society provides free transportation, but it means sitting around for a couple of hours, and ridng all over SA while they take others home. Listen to me complain when I ought to be grateful!

Dear Annie, I have, I think I have told, an old, unheard of Agatha novel that I have been reading in doctor's offices for the last four  or five years.  I suggest that you put on your phone the old story, Psycho.  Amazing story.  I am reading it now, once again.  Moll Flanders is another.  And any thing Poe.  I am not mean, I know how the brain kind of works. At least mine.  

I know that medical people move fast and it is up to us to say, "wait a dad gummed minute while I think this out."  They put the fear out there.  They did it to me.  Within two months, the medical community had convinced me I had no options, had me though many expensive tests, and shipped me off to take out part of my lung......just in case.  It hurt my whole future, Ann.  I had a lesion. I hope you have better advice than I did.  I love you.

I think the radiology is important. It will be focused treatment and sbould shrink the remaining lesions. There should not be many side effects. What bugs me is having to go in for 10 straight weekdays. Short, simple treatments but hours of sitting and waiting for free rides. That's where I think I'm being selfish. Once these two weeks are over, I plan on taking some time out for making decisions and choices, but unpleasant or not, I think the radiation is the right way to go. I'mjust in a complaining mood right now. Forgive me for that.

How  much  is a cab ride  to the radiation?

I'm reading a series of historical fiction about the plantagets. Helps pass the tome pretty quickly.

I've been away again for some time--too busy. But it is good to see a post from you, Annie. I don't care if you're reading the ingredients in a cereal box (spoiler alert: sugar, sugar and MORE sugar plus a few grains of some biologically altered grain or other and lots of hard to pronounce chemicals to prevent the increedibly sweet stuff from spoiling before it can rot you teeth) it is good to read any post from you and sister Alice!

Welcome back, Victor.  Are you buried in snow? I am wondering about Ann too. Our daughter's
roof is leaking and they are in Boulder, CO.

Just got back from 3rd radiation treatment. They seem to be going well. Short and actually comfortable. The most time-consuming part is waiting for rides, but another tomorrow and the weekend off.

Back in hospital as of Saturday .morning. Lynn and Susan just left. Moving tomorrow probably to hospice. Will write more then.
