Question about PA book covers

I was wondering.  Since Publish America is no longer in business, could I use the original cover picture of Wooffer on the paperback version with the new title of The Tales of Wooffer's Woods?  I did send them the original picture of Wooffer.

You can use the original photo, Betty. If you change the title and ISBN, it's a new book, anyway.

                  I rem,ember when I got back my rights for Dusty they said I couldn't use
    the cover they created from Dusty's photo I may use it anyway ....

FYI PublishAmerica is still in business, they changed their name to America Star Books.

I do not believe anyone at American Star wants to remember Publish America or they would not have changed the name.  I doubt they are watching books for their old covers, especially when the cover is a picture of a real dog and it originated with the dog's owner.

I did ask for the rights to my cover art when I got my other rights back.  I received that right.  However, it wasn't all that great and I didn't use it.

I'm not quite sure that was the reason for the name change.

No, I have a five book deal with my current publisher.

When I got my rights back, PA stated that it did not include any artwork they did.  The only artwork was the cover.  When I had it re-published, the publisher created their own cover and changed the title.
If you have any doubt about using the old artwork, don't.  I don't think it is worth the risk.  Peace of mind is better than having doubts. JMV.

Since I first ask this question, Our Shelagh has been hard at work.  She had reformatted the whole book, included my original art, added an index and all the new stories that I have written since the original publication of Wooffer's stories. put it all on createspace, redesigned the cover front and back and created a web site for my publishing of other stories as Woofferbooks. (woofferbooks.web.com).
To say that I am grateful is an understatement.
