I found this on Dick Stodghills Stodghill said.
PostSubject: Re: The Dawning of a New Day in America   Thu Nov 06, 2008 4:24 pm

I did not vote for him, nor am I supportive (or hopeful) of his views and intentions.

I do not care what color he is. He was elected because he is black-- which he really isn't, and because Democrats don't care who their canidate is.

No one seems to care what his true agenda for America is.

Worst of all for our state (KY) is his desire to rid the US of coal and coal production.  Followed by oil, natural gas, and nuclear power.  Where is our energy source going to come from?  Solar and wind mills will not work on a nationwide scale. For windmills, they cost $50,000 each (not including installation), need about an acre, the wind has to blow at a minimum of 40mph for an extended length of time, and two are needed for an average 3BR home; if solar panels covered the entire state of KY, it would provide lilmited power for about 60% of the state, and would cost billions to implement.  W/O coal, KY loses millions in coal severance tax money for road up-keep and financing vol. fire depts.

With oil no longer being used, how will plastics be made?  Do you know all the things made with oil by-products?  He wants no oil at all used used in the USA (or he wants us oil dependent on the Mid-East, which is worse); so you might just take everything out of your house and garage that is made from oil by-products (including your computer) and get used to living that way.

As for the US Constitution, he's stated in a radio interview he wants to change it, too; seems it's not good enough for him. Well, of course not, it won't let him take over America.  He wants to change the Bill of Rights, to 'fix' those 'free speech' and 'right to bear arms' problems.  He wamts his own SS Troops security force ('just as powerful, just as well-funded...' as the regular military); and he wants our children brainwashed in his Socialist schools.

If you disagree with hin, or question him, or say something he doesn't like, he sends his goon squad after you to destroy your life. He's done this as Senator, now he can do it to the whole country as .... I won't even give him that title, because he's not a leader.  So don't speak out against him folks, or you'll disappear.  You note I'm not using his name anywhere on this post so it can't be Googled by his thugs.

He has said nothing good about America.  And I don't care what the world thinks of us; I WANT our enemies to hate and fear us. They are insane dictators who will cheerfully kill anyone they want to; usually 'cause their religion insists that they kill infidels (anyone not of Islamic faith is an infidel).

He has done nothing and accomplished nothing of note before Nov. 4; and, really, he didn't do that. Others did.

A lot of people sold their freedom for a supposedly $500 check; and when the TAX CUTS THAT PRESIDENT BUSH GAVE ALL AMERICANS ends in 2010 (and he has said numerous times he will not extend), ALL AMERICANS will have an automatic tax increase of 5-7%; except those who don't pay taxes, I suppose he'll cut their taxes again.  Maybe.

That's on top of the increased payroll taxes US workers will have to pay (he's extending the cap to the Soc. Sec. tax, so that means more money coming out of checks), and we'll also have to pay whatever he deems 'fair' for the US worker to give to his World Poverty bill via the UN -- which , I'm sure, only Americans will actually pay for.  You can not end world poverty; it's impossilbe. For one thing, the dicatators won't allow it; how do you think they stay in power? The US will start to find out in the next 4 years.

I fear for our country; I fear for our men and women in unifrom.

He will be tested, and soon. Probably in February of next year; our enemies don't dare strike against the US while someone with a backbone is in power.  They understand and respect war and warriors; they have nothing but comtempt for weaklings, and will attack them.

I hope the 'world' has a nice few days; after that, Russia will re-establish her boundaries, and then go after the rest of Europe (and the US won't do anything about it; he's too cowardly and is in agreement with the Russians and the Mid-East); the radicals in the MId-East will go wild and take over their areas (so that takes care of foreign oil; the US will be at their mercy); and France and Britian will too busy fighting off Russia and the Mid-East to worry about anything else.  Israel will fight alone (and those of you who believe in the Holy Bible knows what this means.).

He will have all AMerica's secrets and launch codes; he will know where all our operatives are.  They are lost.

america is lost.

for the next four years, anyway.

And, yes, I know I'm the lone conservative on this site. But what I say is real and true; close your eyes to it if you want to.

I checked in on the PA site mostly to support the anthology.

Now, I can no longer do so.  I am among those who support an anti-American, anti-Constitution Communist and I can't remain here.

So good luck with the site, the book, and your lives. Cherish the next few months of freedom you now have; it will be gone (or in the process of going) next year.

Melinda was apparently a guest.  At that time guests were allowed to post,  Her views were the opposite to  Dick's post and to his entire way of thinking.  Members here were quick to respond, generally disagreeing.  You can find Dick's post onpage 3 of Stodghill Says So.

Please read Dick's original post, everyone. I know that Dick would not want his name or this blog to e associated with this perspective,

At the time, I felt the same way Dick did…I think most Americans did…but it has not come out that way. This country is fast becoming, "The fall if America." The new generation, if they ever get their heads out of the ass, won’t have much to work with. All the major companies are gone. America is number 14 in education. It is also the lowest in math. You can’t build a country on computers, movies, and text messaging. The President doesn’t know what to do. I do not believe there is a man, or group of men who can pull this country out of the hole it’s in. The power of this country is now those who hold the money wealth. Those kind of people with their greed have always destroyed nations. History shows America is on the same path as all the other nations that fell.
She did mention, "Those who know the Bible understand what will happen." That is true. This nation is the eight world power. The Bible says the eight world power will fall overnight. We have a strong, Army, Navy, and Air force…but the strength is not in that without strong leaders…where are the strong leaders?
This country did not start out as a Godly nation. It turned against its Government, England. It enslaved millions of people. It murdered most of the Native Americans. It has made laws that go against Gods laws…yet is says, "In God we trust." I do not believe most Americans understand the danger this country is in. The country Dick and older Americans knew, is not the America of today…and the old America was only good if you were white. If you don’t believe that, ask any black American.

Anyone and I mean anyone who tries to put Dick Stodghill in a bad light will no longer be considered a friend of mine.  I have just finished reading his book for the 8th or 9th time.  He was a patriot.  He was a soldier and he knew the horrors of war.  He wrote the truth about war.  He wrote the truth about those in charge, giving credit when due and giving them hell when deserved.  He was a writer and reporter.  His blogs were always informative.
Dick is still alive with me.  If you have never read his book, you should.  I am proud that I have a signed copy.  There is another person on this forum that I admire greatly.  He has written several books and I am pleased to have signed copies.  He also knows the horrors of war.  His name is D.J. Stephens.

Today I heard on CNN that there are over one million Syrian refugees living in Lebanon.  They comprise more than 1/4 of Lebanon's population.  We often see pictures of some refugee camps, but what the pictures can't give the viewer is the stench.  Wouldn't it be great to see a movie where the viewer could also smell the fragrances?  Some movies would give the viewer wonder fragrances as in smelling fresh cut grass, the smell of food cooking, etc.  The not so good smells, as in War movies would be the smell of gun power, the body odor of soldiers wearing the same clothes for weeks on end.  As for refugee camps, unless you have seen one and smelled the smell, you can't imagine what it is like.
Consider a homeless person living in such conditions and that person learns the conditions of a western prison where the prisoner gets three meals a day, a bed, clean clothing, heat in the winter and often AC in the summer.  Would that person consider committing a crime so that he/she could get relief from their misery?  We've hear that some street people in NYC threw bricks through windows so they could be arrested and get out of the cold.  The Palestinian Refugees have been living in such conditions for a long time.  What attention is given to their plight?  It is easy to look the other way and think that it is not our problem.  It is everyone's problem.  We are out brother's keeper.
Sorry for the rant.  I take that back.  No I'm not sorry.  I said what I felt needed to be said.

Dick wrote things that  made me cry.  I remember the days at the PAMB when we all got going, even the opposing viewpoints, without damning anyone with different views, just giving facts to support our own point of view.  I was so glad when the club let me in, actually responded to my posts...

I heard a good summary of U.S. politics today.  There are two votes and one set of candidates. The first vote is in the primary controlled by a few very wealthy individuals and groups whose contributions to campaigns and campaign propaganda control who runs in primaries.  The second vote is the actual election where the vote is controlled again by the most money.

You and I have no voice anymore unless we are in the 1% at the top.  The campaigns have no limits on spending which opens it up completely to mass propaganda in the hands of those with the most money.  It's a propaganda war not a democratic election.  We have no business telling other countries how to conduct their politics.  At least we do it peacefully - our one claim still.

Abe,
Well said and never apologize for speaking your mind.
I was honored to call Dick a friend and feel the same honor to be able to call you a friend.
Now you've got me pulling Dick's book out again.

Every generation, at their particular point in time, had/has some bitch or complaint about the government.  Some people get off their butts and try to do something about it, others just bitch!  For those that voted and don't like the results - yell, scream and try to change it.  For those that didn't vote, sit down and shut up, you got exactly what you deserved!

I spent six months in Washington, D.C. as an honorary political intern.  I spent many weeks in Washington, D.C. as an advocate for various pieces of legislation over the years.

I found the staffers the most intelligence and dedicated of anyone else I met.  They worked around the clock at low pay and little reward except "hopes" for their future with their boss.

In spite of that experience, I find the whole Washington D.C. baffling and unworkable.  Any business or non-profit run in the same manner would fail, regardless of political party.

I do have some beliefs about the lives of U.S. citizens and what they should experience in a prosperous country like ours.  There should be sufficient jobs, housing, food, shelter, education and health care, not in any particular order but all there.  I try to vote in a direction I believe supports those things.  As I am not an economist, I may not understand all it takes.

I have no stomach for the do nothing Congress over the last few years, the mud-slinging, the hate-mongering and the rest of it.  It is the result of greed and the power of money and it has changed the U.S. so that people do not pull together but rather pull apart.

Rather than place fault, I believe that unless real campaign reform occurs, the oligarchy rules and the common man continues his downward slide.

The OP had nothing to do with Dicks character, or war service. The person who wrote that had a pretty clear view of how things would turn out. Dick was a good man, but he was just a man, and I’m sure if he were alive to read the comments on this thread, he would laugh and say, “I’ve been wrong before.”

If that makes me an enemy to some on this forum…well, think as you will.

The problem,Domenic, is that you posted it with the title of Dick's blog without clarification that the response did not reflect his messaga, and, in fact, contradicted it. The implication was that it expressed a similar perspective to the vlog.

Those of us who knew Dick were concerned that guests and newcomers would not realize that.

I posted the name of the thread so others could find it. I never knew Melinda...still don't know who she is?

As to Dick, he was of the last of a good generation in America. Like millions of others he went to war. He was a writer, and a kind man. Most of that Generation were the kind of people who rolled their sleeves up when the saw something had to be done. They had higher moral values. Did they ever do anything wrong? yes. They were just people who had to live threw a bad depression, WW2, and the Koran war. I grew up with those people...there were many people like Dick. Were they correct in everything they said, and did? No. Between 1945-1960, that generation built the middle class in America. The baby boomers are the ones who tore it all down. Dicks generation still held out hope, and looked on the positive side of things.

My posting of the OP had nothing to do with Dick, or his generation. He was just a man. I’m sure if he could see how some of you are treating the memory of him, like something to worship…he would straighten you out fast. Some of you come off with an attitude, "Think like I think, or I won’t be your friend." Grow up.

Are you telling me to grow up?  I'm as grown as I ever will be and pleased at my growth.  Before you cast judgement, get to know more about the person we came to know as Dick.  Read his book.  You get to know much about a person in what they write.  I don't worship anyone, but I do admire some people and their memory will live on.  I am crazy enough to think that I can communicate with Dick.  I have even held conversations with him.  No, don't send for the Crazy wagon.  I like my life as it is.
Some people I like and some I respect.  It's great when one can like and respect the same person.  That especially applies to Dick Stodghill.  Yes, he was just a man, but an extraordinary one.
Enough said.

Let's look at the individual statements and see how many are true today, six years on:

Quote :
Worst of all for our state (KY) is his desire to rid the US of coal and coal production.  Followed by oil, natural gas, and nuclear power.  Where is our energy source going to come from?  Solar and wind mills will not work on a nationwide scale. For windmills, they cost $50,000 each (not including installation), need about an acre, the wind has to blow at a minimum of 40mph for an extended length of time, and two are needed for an average 3BR home; if solar panels covered the entire state of KY, it would provide lilmited power for about 60% of the state, and would cost billions to implement.  W/O coal, KY loses millions in coal severance tax money for road up-keep and financing vol. fire depts.

How much energy is provided by wind mills in KY?

Quote :
With oil no longer being used, how will plastics be made?  Do you know all the things made with oil by-products?  He wants no oil at all used used in the USA (or he wants us oil dependent on the Mid-East, which is worse); so you might just take everything out of your house and garage that is made from oil by-products (including your computer) and get used to living that way.

Does the US produce just as much plastic as it did six years ago?

Quote :
As for the US Constitution, he's stated in a radio interview he wants to change it, too; seems it's not good enough for him. Well, of course not, it won't let him take over America.  He wants to change the Bill of Rights, to 'fix' those 'free speech' and 'right to bear arms' problems.  He wamts his own SS Troops security force ('just as powerful, just as well-funded...' as the regular military); and he wants our children brainwashed in his Socialist schools.

Has the US Constitution changed?

Quote :
He has done nothing and accomplished nothing of note before Nov. 4; and, really, he didn't do that. Others did.

Is this true?

Quote :
A lot of people sold their freedom for a supposedly $500 check; and when the TAX CUTS THAT PRESIDENT BUSH GAVE ALL AMERICANS ends in 2010 (and he has said numerous times he will not extend), ALL AMERICANS will have an automatic tax increase of 5-7%; except those who don't pay taxes, I suppose he'll cut their taxes again.  Maybe.

Do Americans pay more tax now than they did in 2010?

Quote :
That's on top of the increased payroll taxes US workers will have to pay (he's extending the cap to the Soc. Sec. tax, so that means more money coming out of checks), and we'll also have to pay whatever he deems 'fair' for the US worker to give to his World Poverty bill via the UN -- which , I'm sure, only Americans will actually pay for.  You can not end world poverty; it's impossilbe. For one thing, the dicatators won't allow it; how do you think they stay in power? The US will start to find out in the next 4 years.

Did the US find out?

Quote :

Is America capitulating over Russia and the Middle East?

Either your comprehension if off key, or you’re

being childish.

If you feel I slighted the memory of Dick in any way, please explain?
