Goddess Oracle Cards Empty
PostSubject: Goddess Oracle Cards   Goddess Oracle Cards EmptyTue Jun 16, 2009 9:35 am

I had never had my cards read before.

But I spent this weekend with some friends who love fantasy as much as I do and one of them had a new deck and offered to read my cards.

Her card deck was beautiful.

She told me to shuffle the deck. I intended to shuffle them three times which is what I normally do with playing cards. She pulled the card from the bottom and told me she had to read it because the card was 'refusing to shuffle and wanted to be read'.

It was goddess Coventina, the goddess of purification.

I then pulled four more cards from the deck and handed them to my friend.
They were:

goddess Sedna, the goddess of infinite supply
goddess Kuan Yin, the goddess of compassion
goddess Saraswati, the goddess of divine arts
goddess Sekhmet, the goddess of be strong

She was surprised when she turned the cards I had handed her. Because all five card were laid out right side up. She told me that when cards are upside down, it means the person being read is having difficulty or issues with whatever is represented by the card.

It was an interesting experience ... and fun.

There are certainly a great number of different decks out there. My Tarot deck is probably one of the most generic!

What deck do you have Zada? I started with the Universal Rider-Waite. I have accumulated many since then.

I blelieve that is the deck I have. It isn't near where I am at the moment, or I would check. I was given a swedish deck years ago, but did not like it. It did not feel right in my hands, so. I gave it away.

Doreen's are the most popular and she has several. I only have one of hers. They are not tarot decks. But they can do the same thing if the person knows what they are doing.

I like Sonia Choquette's decks. Two of them are about trusting your vibes. Steven Farmer's are on animal power and spirit animals. I could go on and on, but I won't. *grin*

Has anyone ever seen The Medicine Cards? They are based on the Native American teachings about animals. They are beautiful and the book that accompanies the cards tells about the positive and negative aspects of each animal and how the characteristics manifest in humans as well.

Merri, they were my very first deck! I went to the bookstore to get a regular tarot deck and the ones I ended up buying were flawed. When I returned them I got the Medicine Cards instead. I still use them to this day. Steven Farmer's deck is similar with more animals. I have learned so much about animals and the reason they come into our lives because of that first deck.

Do you use them often, Merri?

I do! I have found them incredibly useful and highly accurate. I tend to ask questions such as, "What do I need to focus on today?" "What does my mom need most from me during our next visit?" "What area of my life needs a bit of work?"

There was a portion of time years ago when I kept drawing the Armadillo card, which has a lot to do with boundaries. I found out I didn't have any!!! Every time I thought I was making progress, I'd draw that dang Armadillo card again and I knew I had more work to do. Very Happy

A Native American read my cards using that deck, and it was pretty acccuraqte. The only ones I remember though, were the wolves and bears. It has been quite some time ago, so maybe it's time to have them done again.

Not to worry, Dick. You aren't nuts, just closed off to the possibility! I always thought it was just so much craziness until some strange things happened to me and I did some investigating.

Not everyone is open to even checking it out and exploring the possibilities. I think women tend to be more sensitive to it, as a general rule, but many are not.

I agree with Zada. It is a natural ability that everyone has but not everyone uses.

You know that little gut feeling you get about something? That is your intuition kicking in. Some people just brush it off. Others live by it. I try to live by it.

As for using cards and other props to help get the answers we seek, that is a personal choice. I use to use the cards, pendulum, etc to get the answers. Now I just ask and I get the answers if I chose to listen without the use of cards or anything else. However, they do come in handy and help direct the focus of the query.

You aren't nuts. Just from the old school. *giggle*

Goddess Oracle Cards Empty
PostSubject: Re: Goddess Oracle Cards   Goddess Oracle Cards EmptyFri Jun 19, 2009 3:26 pm

I've had my cards read many times. The readings have always been very accurate.

The very first time my cards were read, the older gentleman used a regular deck of cards. My cards were all coming up red--and he told me that I had a lot of color in my life and career and it was important to me. I have a clothing boutique, and color is very much a part of my life. He told me a lot of wonderful things about where things were heading for me in a positive way, and they were. The friend I took with me had all her cards come up black--her life was very depressing.

He also said that there was a medical issue with my then husband. He said he was seeing jello that wasn't quite jelled. I didn't say a thing. He finally blurted out, "Your husband is manic depressive!" He was right. There was no way he could've known that beforehand.

Other times my cards were read it was the Rider-Waite deck. Every time I was told things that were spookily accurate with no input on my part.

I DO believe!

Many a time I've had a feeling that told me this was not a safe place to be so I moved. Sure enough, I was right. It's called experience.
I didn't get where I am today because of a deck of cards. Experience, yes. Common sense, yes. Cards or crystal balls, no.
I don't believe.

PostSubject: Re: Goddess Oracle Cards   Goddess Oracle Cards EmptySat Jun 20, 2009 6:17 pm

If your gut told you to leave and you left, and it was right, then it was your intuition telling you. That is not cards, or crystal ball. That is your inner self, your higher self, or even who/what you consider God, talking to you. It is that sixth sense that we all have. Some just live by it more than others. It has nothing necessarily to do with the props. It is an inate instinct that we all have.

Yes, I agree it was experience. It was experience in trusting that gut feeling that told you to move in the first place. I also agree that those men felt they were going to die, they may have contributed to it because they were so sure that they were unconsciously lax in their behaviour which caused their death. I feel they still had a premonition of it. Also, if they had paid more attention they may not have died and may have altered that premonition.

To me cards and crystals balls are just props to help aid people and making them feel more secure in the information they are getting.

I work with the police. No cards. I have been very successful in this work. No crystal balls. Just information that comes to me from only God knows where. I call it my intuition. I feel that God is guiding me in some way to help others. It is just a sixth sense which everybody has if they chose to use it..

I guess you know I believe. *grin*

Like everything else, Helen, it is a gift from my Higher Power. (BTW, my Higher Power is God.) As a human, my capabilities are limited. I couldn't do it if I wasn't blessed and given the opportunity to help my fellow man/woman. We all have our place in the world to help others and make the world better for all of us. I am thankful that I was smart enough to let go of me and focus on where the true miracles lie. ("Is that lie or lay?" I ask with a smile.) That was in place of a smiley.

Oh, Dick, I agree with you that the cards and crystal balls aren't really telling people. They are just props for what they are getting via their intuition. Too many people place importance on the props and think that is where the info comes from. You are right in not believing in them: the props I mean.

Ha! I think it's "lie," Sue. And when you add the words instead of a smiley, I always know what your intention is (no matter how weird it first appeared to me).

And I agree that the cards in the readings, are just props. But they do make it fun for me. One card reader I went to flipped over cards while she was doing the reading, and they seemed to have no connection. She said later that the cards were just props. They had nothing to do with what she was telling me.

PostSubject: Re: Goddess Oracle Cards   Goddess Oracle Cards EmptySun Jun 21, 2009 3:18 pm

It is amazing though how two people can take a different card and get the same information. It comes, I think, from what we personally see or put into what we see in the card.

When learning how to read Tarot cards the color red means passion. I see red as anger, blood, etc, not passion. That is how I interpret it in my readings. Someone else who would interpret blood or anger differently would get a different card with that same interpretation I got for the query. We are given the cards that resonate a certain way with us so that we can get the message accurately across to the person asking the question. Did that make sense?

I haven't used cards for years. Most people just say tell me what you get. I tell them not to tell me anything. It is up to me to tell them. I don't want to be influenced.

Most people who do this work hit 85% of the time. Mine is a bit higher. The reason I work for the police is because my accuracy is so high.

People ask me how I know these things. I have no idea except that a power higher than myself gives me the information through my intuition. I just know: like a mother just knows when her child is sick at school. To me is a blessing because I can help others with the work I do.
