If you're not a Prime member or if you don't own a Kindle (I don't own one either at this point, and though I am a Prime member, I can't download the free-for-prime books either since they can only be downloaded directly through a Kindle reader) but really do want to read the darned thing, send me a PM with your email and I'll buy and send you a gift of the Kindle version of the book that can be read on a PC or Mac.

I do appreciate the thought, but I really don't want you to buy this particular book since it is probably not something you actually want or would normally read. If you're curious, or if I'm wrong and you actually want it, I'll gift it to you. Hell if you really want it I'll send you an autographed copy as I have an extra one of the soft covers on hand. Otherwise, wait until I put the new edition of the short story book on a one-day free download in a few days and download that if you want to read something of mine that won't make your hair hurt (much) or make me feel guilty--its great for those long bathroom breaks if you still get the urge to avoid washing those dishes for old time's sake . . .

Thank you! It is here and I will cherish it always. When I was in accounting school, my favorite class was Business Law.
You will be pleased to hear that I beat my nearest classmate by 14 points for the quarter. I often wished I had pursued law, but I was nearly 40 when I thought of it and that was a bit late in life.

I look forward to your book as well, though I likely won't likely be able to enjoy reading it until this semester ends. All I can enjoy these days is books on tape on my long drives to work. I so look forward to catching up with my fun reading soon, including Ann's book and yours!)

Accounting and law are always related, and not just as far as knowing what one needs to know to pass the CPA exam is concerned. A great many of my students are accounting majors, and that has always been the case throughout most of my academic life, which is now more than half of my actual life and nearly all of my work life--scary as that thought is to me. And 40 is NOT TOO OLD to start ANY new career. I have always had a special place in my heart for nontraditional students as they bring a wealth of experience to their studies. When I started teaching I was usually younger than most of my students and both then, and even as a traditional undergraduate student myself, I loved having seasoned students in my class--especially retired individuals taking a philosophy, creative writing, drama or business law class just for the sheer fun of it. I so wish I had the time to do that myself these days and sample the cornucopia of exceptional courses offered by my university extraordinary colleagues in all of its schools, but I can't even read my friends' books when I'd like. *SIGH*

I love my job. I love my job. I L-O-V-E my job! (The teaching part and the writing part. The committee and administrative parts that takes up more and more of my time get a small case [in tiny print] "love.")
