Me too, Alice. It seems almost medieval to use weapons to defend children.

I am disappointed. We are a world economy and I would have liked to see some consideration shown for the rest of the world and not just our rich folks.
A recession is no fun for anyone.

Appreciation of cultural diversity is growing throughout the country.

The hidden agendas of elitist politicians, banks, and corporations are being exposed and confronted.

We averted a major recession four years ago and the economy is slowly recovering.

We recently re-elected a president who supports a progressive agenda.

The total population of the US, as of July 2011 is 311,591,917. Approximately 4.3 million of them are members of the NRA. That means that approximately 307,600,000 are not.

Gun-related homicides have declined steadily since 1993.

In the aftermath of a recent and tragic school shooting, we are actively working toward a solution that will include tighter gun regulation.

Things don't look all that bad from my perspective.

That's exactly what the BBC reported just a few hours ago. If both sides of the political divide don't come to an agreement over the tax rises, apparently the country will topple over the edge and back into recession:

Sorry, I can't join in this Doomsday perspective.

We seem determined to create an apocalyptic future around the corner - it's part of our archetypal collective, I suppose. It's not the view that I see, nor one I want to help create.

We get what we focus our attention on.

Okay I am bothered by Congresses inability to arrive at a compromise to avoid a recession. I would like them to consider the entire world economy and not simply ours.

We are already over a fiscal cliff a long long time ago,

The politicians don't givea dam about the American

public and yet they want to scale down to almost

nothing the increase the seniors get every year, do

they know seniors count on this, are they stupid or

retarted ? There are other ways to cut the budget !

I've yet to see any Congressmen, Senator or President

say they'll take a 35% pay cut along with elminating all

Let's just say we have a bunch of jack asses running

this country and they all ran away including the President

for vacation, they should be held accountable, they caused

this crisis, as of next week 2 million people will loose their

un-employment , all they know how to do is play a game of

chicken, they all should resign at once ! You get what you

vote for.........

President Obama needs a vacation. If he waited till everything was perfect, he would never rest.
Christmas is important for his children and wife.
I applaud him.

Sorry , nobody is trying, none of them deserve a

vacation , the country is falling apart and they don't

give a dam, I wish the American Public would take

their head out of the sand, open their eyes wide....

and I would never , ever hand over their powers of the

Congress and a blank check book to the President of the

United States that would be suicide, they don't know how

to control their spending and yet the American public should

pay for their stupidities .......................

The president asked Congress to hand over the debt

ceiling and the power to raise the National Debt as he sees

fit wrong move ! Under the Consitution only Congress has the

power to handle that not the president, this would be financial

suicide !
