Babies are so funny.

They make clear who is the boss before they see fit to arrive.

Dan and Stephanie have eveything ready, but, Kenzie is talking her own sweet time

She was due on the 20th and is primping--can't wait to see her.

And they are all different. My girls were overeager. One arrived at 8 mos, the other 8 1/2.

David arrived 4 wks late to the day.

How big was David?

A month late is scary.

Dan was two weeks late and huge.

9 lbs. Lynn was 5 1/2 and Susan 6

He was obviously working on his brain.

well, he has a good one, for certain, but so do his sisters. Maybe he had a premonition of growing up in an all-female household. Now he has his own house full of women.

From the time he did arrive, he was constantly moving. He could run before he could walk, and as he got older, he was always walking farther away than he ought. When he got wheels, starting with Big Wheels and moving on through getting his driver's license, there was no holding him back.

I asked hum why he was making astrophysics his PhD specialty, he said, "Wanderlust, I guess."

I replied, "Say no more."

THE GOOD NEWS! Kenzie should be here today or tomorrow. She is good sized and the doctor
wanted her here today. Believe it or not the hospital said, " Not before Tuesday." The doctor is having the last word and she will get started today. I can't wait to see her.

I'd love to have another if that were possible, however for that to happen there would have to be a Star in the East and the appearance of wise men. I'd even settle for some wise women.
Now please don't jump on me for the "woman" insertion. I meant it in a positive vein.

Dear Sweet Abe,

That is why we have children and grands, we do not have to do it ourself, but can enjoy the little ones without the bewildered stress we had with our own children.

I love young love. My grandson is 'smitten' and my grand daughter is expecting, the other grand has an eight year old ball of fire, and David and I are soaking up all the love we can.

Abe, you sound like my mom's brother, James, at the hospital just after my Lynn was born. He and Mary Lee, his wife, were looking through the window, and Uncle James noticed that the babies were all wearing disposable diapers and shirts, and were wrapped in disposable blankets.

"See, Mary," he told her. "It's a whole lot easier now. We could do it again. Bryan (their oldest of three) is leaving for college next year. We could make his room into a nursery...."

Aunt Mary Lee and my mom just looked at each other and shook their heads.

When I made reference recently to my wife about having another, although I knew it was impossible, she shook her head before replying. The reply had something to do with me having to go through the pain of child birth.

Is that kind of like, just after David (our third) was born, Bill told some visitors at the hospital we were going to have six?

I told him I had taken care of my half, the rest were up to him.

A great puzzle or lack of knowledge is about the sex of the child. In history, the Kings wanted male heirs and blamed the wife when she gave him daughters, often resorting to having more than one wife in an attempt to produce a son. It is my understanding that the man determines the sex of the child. Blaming the wife began a long time ago and persists to this day.

What wonderful day yesterday was.
We went over to the hospital at about 6:30 pm last evening.
The hospital is gorgeous and brand new,
Dan was treated like royalty and even stayed with Stephanie and Kenzie overnight. He gets to stay the whole time

It was exciting. Stephanie's mom had come up the 15th and planned on going home last night.
She is from San Marcos, CA. When she found out Kenzie was really on her way, she decided to stay. We are so glad she did.

Kenzie is a tall baby--22 inches long and and weighs 8 lbs 15 oz. Babies, be they boy or girl, are most welcome and precious to us. We are happy to have our two grandsons and now a granddaughter

Thrice blessed.

Granddaughters are special, especially when the have cool names - like Kenzie and Jaycie.

Babies aren't called "Bundles of Joy" for nothing! I went out last night and the sky seemed to glow in the northwest. I thought, Kenzie must have arrrived! Alice is smiling! :lol:
