Life is full of surprises!

Last Wedesday, I received a Facebook email notification that a post had been made about me. This is what it said:

"Got 3 books today now wondering which one to read first? Any suggestions? (Shelagh Watkins) "

I had no idea what the three books were. Today, I saw this on my timeline:

Thanks Alice! I first met Heike in 2005 on MySpace. She wanted to visit the UK from Germany and asked me for advice on the cheapest flights. I did some research on bucket shops here in the UK offering cut-price flights. We exchanged quite a few messages and became good friends. She found me on Facebook and Twitter and friended me on both sites. She has always been supportive and watched my career with interest. I was amazed when she bought three of my books after all this time!

Maybe she just got the means to do it. Good for her.

Alice, you are not a gutless wonder. It is difficult to separate the good from the bad. Sometimes we react quickly because we are ticked-off for some reason, and then regret our actions.
I made a comment about the GOP on facebook last week. One of my "friends" objected and said she didn't want bashing on her Wall. I have no control over what gets posted on her wall, and it was not bashing. To avoid having my comments appearing on her Wall, I unfriended her. At the same time, I gave serious thought about dropping from FB. I'm still considering that move,however there are many friends that are not on this forum and the only contact is via FB. Ron Kruger is one of them. I enjoy his nature posts. He's an avid fisherman and photographer. If I get too much static from saying what I believe, there is always an option. Say nothing or drop out.

I checked my email a couple of hours ago and found a letter from a man who is apparently a distant cousin. He was googling the name of a common ancestor, and it led him to Forever Travels, where he found my contribution, "From Belfast to St. Joe." George and Margaret were his ancestors, too.

I had all my files stored on dropbox. First, my web site has never reconnected between webs.com and dkchristi.com and it has something to do with my son who owns my web site. Secondly, I somehow deleted all my files that were "safely" stored at dropbox. I sent them a message to restore them, but sometimes they don't all come back....
