| I finished it. It took all day, but the snags that I had been hitting started clearing up with the new take I came up with night before last. Here is the cover. I am going to sleep on the project before I submit it to Smashwords tomorrow, to start the process. I'm not sure if maybe there isn't a bit too much of the impressionist effect. Since the story ended up at 5000 words, I won't ask you guys to pass on it, but I have included a draft of the description I'm planning to use. Any comments on it and the cover would be appreciated. - Quote :
- In this 5000 word short story, Daniel Redstone and Jake Holder race to the Penateka Comanche camp on the San Saba River with information that will lead to the signing of the only treaty between Native Americans and white settlers that was never broken, the Comanche/Meusebach treaty at Fredericksburg, Texas in 1847. During their adventure, Daniel confronts a dilemma from his past and tries to find a sense of peace within himself.

| Although the picture looks fuzzy, I expect that will clear when in production. I like the title and the picture. Well done. |

| It looks very grainy to me. I like the concept, however. |

| I agree about the grainy-fuzzy bit. It doesn't look very peaceful. Here's the morning's redo. Ann |

| OK - We're up on Smashwords. No auto-vetting errors, so the final approval for primary distribution should go through.
In the meantime, it is available there to download, any format, free, if anyone would care to read it.

| The problem with working late into the night is that when you are tired and sleepy, things look more acceptable than they do in the light of day.
I knew myself well enough to hold off on decision making til morning, but I wanted to celebrate getting the story finished.
Thanks guys.

| Thanks, Joe. There have been 6 downloads already. I read it myself in my Kindle reader, and there is something about white letters on a black background that helps me pick up things. I found a few minor errors, and have already corrected them.
Now, let's just hope that the fans of Incident and Vision Quest will want to read it, and that, once the book is out, a few people at least, will be ready to pay a bit for the novel that these characters depict at a later time in their lives.
