The more a person says, " trust me" the more skeptical I get. Is anyone else distrustful too?

I have to agree with you, Alice. The more a person tries to explain how honest they are, gives cause to wonder why they have to go to so much trouble. Actions speak louder than words!

I agree. The word "trust me" turns me off. The worst screwing I ever got was from a southern gentlemen who said, "I'm a christian. You can trust me."

Three expressions, if used to try to convince me of something, tend to make me doubt the person's truthfulness:

Trust me.

I swear.

Believe me.

That doesn't surprise me.

In my experience, christians, are no more honest or kind than those who are not.

Atheists, pagans, and other non-christians have just as strong values and morals as anyone else.
