| Are you normal? Were your parents normal? How about siblings? How about your kids? |

| Alice, before I could answer that I'd want to know what you consider normal. |

| Good question do you view them as normal according to your standards? I view my parents as not normal in any way shape or form.
My dad was 17 years older than my mother They lived in the middle of nowhere They never had a home mortgage. etc. |

| If the criteria of being normal meant being like the average person, I don't think I am normal nor would I wish to be. I think we're all unique, although similar.
The weather was once reported based on above or below normal (consistent) standards. That consistency no longer exists.
Each stage of life, i.e., the 50's the 60's, the 70's had a life-style. Living according to the standards of that period may have been a normal way to live, but I don't believe everyone fit that mould, nor did they all want to. That also applies to different countries, different cultures. Normality is difficult to determine. |

| Mine fit the mould for being strict, but went beyond. I think that they were above the norm in that regard. |

| I suppose our parents are what we calibrate normality by. Everyones parents being different makes normality quite variable. Me I'm not normal so my kids did'nt get a good example to use as a rule of thumb. |

You are not normal. Were your parents poets? You are gifted. |

| By the way my parents meant well. All they wanted was perfection. They did not get what they wanted.

| My Father had the humour gene. He always had a quick wit. He was a piano player, he once had his own dance band. He would perform humorous gags during gigs. Once at a friends funeral during the cremation service as the casket went out on a conveyer belt, the curtains closed behind it and my dad broke the solemn moment with a cry of "encore". To him the curtain thing was a bit too 'show biz' for a funeral so humour was his response. My mum was so embarrassed at the time. But Dad's humour had a way of rubbing off on you. At Dads funeral just as Dad’s casket went behind the curtain Mum whispered "Oh god he's going to take a bow". So I know where my humour comes from. As for the poetry I think God or the Angels or the fairies or maybe the Aliens are to blame?

| When two Russians meet they hailed to each other: 'How are you doing?'Normal', is the answer. so the word goes many ways with many meaning. |
