The anniversary is approaching when things started to go downhill.

Unfortunately, people have short memories and can't see past their own needs. Those with the power and the wealth have done very well, in fact, even better, with the rest of the country in pain. That's just the way it is. I'm becoming resigned to recognizing the futility of hoping for anything better.

Quote :
Bush helped replace an unprecedented federal budget surplus with a mountain of debt in order to slash taxes for rich people (including dead ones).

Ah, so that's why he ran up a mountain of debt? Two wars and opening up the border to tens of millions of illegal aliens (Bush was a huge open borders and Dream Act fan) had nothing to do with it? Well, MJ magazine was never much for critical thinking. I don't mind left-wing mags, but this one is the worst of the worse.

LC,

Bush was a disaster. He ruined this country. We ought to reverse everything he did.

I think everything became a disaster in the last 30 years !
You can't just blame one President, Congress is at fault too,
Who runs this country Congress not the President...He's just
a figure head.....

Cheers..Joe

Maybe dishonesty and greed also, but we had a budget surplus when Clinton left office, Bush took care of that by paying the rich.
The rich are not in need. More money parked in a bank helps no one. If the money is given to the poor they will spend it and jobs will be created.

The rich need to look on it as an act of patriotism to pay taxes and be glad they are able to do so. After all, what good does hoarding money do anyone?

Instead of begrudging the poor, help them. A gov't program is the best way. I don't have time to investigate every beggars
situation and the money I hand them may be worse than no help at all.
