Laugh, and the world laughs with you
Weep, and you weep alone
For this poor old world has need of your mirth,
And troubles enough of its own.

She was blind and always cheerful! She loved to recite poetry.

Dear Alice,
I just wanted to tell you that the Duette School principal has left me a message that she is SO looking forward to reading Living By The Swamp to the students of Duette Elemetary.

She is so genuine and nice.

Love,
Betty

The thing about this weeping alone. It is a big generalized splat. Lots of people have wept for people they did not know. That is a human thing, what makes humans people. I know , generally, people do not want to be around you if you have sorrow, but they do in spite of that and suffer with you anyway.

I can almost see the gritting of the teeth and saying. "let us see what we can do, poor old thing."

Alice, you know you are at the head of the line of helpers;

Love,
Betty
