| I'd be a bit inconvenienced. Since I am on the road, I use it to keep in touch with family. Send/receive photos. Pay bills. Do my banking. Get information.
Without it, I'd have to do all that by phone or wait until I get home.
Since I also 'socialize' on the internet, I'd probably have a little more time to read, talk on the phone, and get writing done. It's a convenience. But I could live without it.
You sometimes don't realize how much you do NOT really need something until you stop using it. |

| Thanks, Joe Joelle Zizban I am glad we don't live in Egypt. Many of the people there have no internet. |

| This week I have not been on the internet very much. My daughter and her husband and three dogs and two cats have stayed here while awaiting the closing of their new house. That is five Daschounds, one Chow/Lab and two assorted kind of cats. This last night of their stay we got the call that her husband"s mom had passed away. Sometimes I wonder about the good God's plan and the resilence the human mind has. All of their stuff is stuffed into pods and today those were put in their new house yard. Moving and dying. We are still dealing with a new well being drilled, problems with that, too. It is so quiet out here in this country place that every sound is noticed by all the dogs and every movement set off a round of barking that lasted 5 minutes or more. The dogs all had a wonderful time. everyone else is insane. If I did not have this message board and the internet, I would have no place to blab out my heart to other hearts. Oh, I could write it on a page in a journal, but then, there is no compassion in a journal of words. It takes people to read those words for that. Love to all, Betty |

| Dear Alice, I wish that people had time to be human beings. To mourn, to bury a mom, without the job standing behind their shoulder with demands. Time to move their belongings from one place to another. Thank you for your kind heart. Love, Betty |

| Funny how the machines that are supposed to save time seem to take it away.
Everything seems to happen in batches. Some people seem to escape the complications of life.
I'm pretty deep in alligators myself at the moment, trying to find my way through the swamp. However, I listen to the flute music in my own trailer for Ghost Orchid and feel the calm of my favorite place.
I have not been without a computer and access to the Internet since AOL first took my $21 per month and then I switched ti ICQ, the first free Internet/social networking site and then to Netzero for Internet (also initially free).
Yes, I have had a few months without, and they were quite productive in accomplishing things I don't want to do. It seems I can put off things by going to the Net.
Now, I have the HTC smartphone, so I never am without. Yet, I seem to be losing acquaintances in real life because of interest differences. Hmmm |
