Money is... Empty
PostSubject: Money is...   Money is... EmptyFri Jan 14, 2011 2:51 pm

Quote :

Money
is congealed energy and releasing it releases life possibilities ... Money
experienced as life energy is indeed a meditation, and letting it flow out
instead of hoarding it is a mode of participation in the life of others.

Eh. I used to believe stuff like that. Now I feel that if someone wants to hoard it because sitting on a hoard makes him or her feel better, that's their prerogative, too.

Dear Ann,
I have been away from the message board with troubles of my own. I read your post here about money as congealed energy and I felt I would let the okra stay warm in the oven for a few minutes while my David is engrossed in a lovely vintage western movie and give you my knee jerk reaction.

Money is a relative term. It is not so much coins and cash, but talents and heartsongs that Campbell may have referenced.

"Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness." Romans I forget which)

In simple words, you must lose your life to gain it. I do not mean you must die, but must look out from your eyes and see the rest. Understand that you are not the end all and be all. Everyone is.

Love,
Betty

Ann,

I like that statement. It is blessed to give and it is far more gratifying to share than to hoard.
Of course everyone does as they wish.

Betty and Alice,

Cool.

LC, your prerogative, too. It's good to hear from different perspectives.

Interesting comments. I think we all have opinions about money.
I'm reminded of a quip by Bugs Bunny. He said, "It is better to give than receive, so give!"

Actually, I've found that by giving to others of oneself, is worth more than money. The money is soon spent - gone. The memory of receiving love and help, lingers.

I've had money.
I've had no money.

I prefer to have it.
I like eating.
I like a roof over my head.
I like having light and water in my home.

But I don't need nor want a lot of it.

When you have too much, it becomes easy to become a slave to your possessions.

Money is okay ... and necessary. And it can cause a lot of good.

And bad.

However, money itself isn't evil (The Bible quote says 'the love of money is ...).

People cause bad or good things to happen. Money is just the means they use.
