I called PA this morning--asked them what the price would be if I paid them $49.99 to put my book on Kindle.

Would you believe their answer? Lauren said , "That has yet to be determined."

I said, "How do you expect me to make a decision? "

I also asked why my buy buttton was gone on Amazon and why I had zero sales, when I had had sales on Amazon.

My answer sloppy bookkeepers.

Alice, why don't you just retitle that book, change a few sentences inside, make a pdf from the Word doc, and put it on Lulu? Why are you still farting around with PA?

Pa is getting worse and worse, I plan to put my future books
on Kindle , Mobi Pocket, etc, screw them.....Why should they
keep royalities...

I don 't know.

They obviously want to sell us our own books and love receiving money straight from us.

I emailed the royalty department and told them to check their records.

You wouldn't be subject to incessant fees and pricing whims, though. $49 to put your book on Kindle? Why, when you can do it yourself for nothing?

I received a PM that I needed a letter from PA stating I owned the electronic rights to the book. I doubt they will give me one at this point.

I do not care to be sued.

That's why I said to change the title and a bit of the content inside. Paired with a new cover, you have a new book! Does PA think it owns everything you'll ever write on Parkinsons or peas?

It is okay. I am reconciled to the fact that my book will not be a NYT bestseller. It does need a buy buttton on Amazon and the price lowered, however. My spending $49.99 without knowing what they will charge would be foolish.
