| By way of comment :: Three units were positioned side by side in Korea. An army helicopter unit, us, and then the 5 th Marine Battalion. Officers were not supposed to drive vehicles - that was an NCO responsibility. But the army helicopter unit didn't have any NCO's so the officers drove themselves. The 5 th Marine Battalion was an MP unit, and they kept arresting the helicopter officers that they caught driving vehicles.
The army helicopter unit - solved that! They started taking off from their field and fly over the marine compound. You don't want to know what a helicopter does to the squad tents the marines were using!

| I have a photo from the flight deck of the Super Sara I took. If I can find it I'll upload it. I was a cook so I didn't get on deck that often while the carrier was in operational mode but I got assigned watch on one of the deck watch posts and I snuck down. |

| Here we go. I also shared this with several USS Saratoga alumni sites. I remember the wind this day was blowing at forty knots and the ship was pitching. Fun!

I'm in Virginia enjoying my grandkids and the beautiful Fall colors. Saw lots of flags commemorating Veterans Day. |
