Seaching for an Agent and Publicist Empty
PostSubject: Seaching for an Agent and Publicist   Seaching for an Agent and Publicist EmptyWed Nov 03, 2010 6:20 am

Let us first (1st) start with what I am looking for: an agent, and a publicist. I'm looking for people with the same dedication and passion that I have. I am looking for a “Jerry Maguire” type figure that works on a percentage and earns it along with me ... not someone looking to get paid up front in a “win-win” situation. You need to have the same hunger I’ve got and FEEEEEL it.

I am looking for exactly the same thing! I have a wonderful publisher but get no advice re publicity. I'm sure all of my books would benefit, from the big one I wrote in 2008 to the four I wrote this year. All are published, look amazing, are on Amazon etc. Advertised on my website etc. But it stops there. If I got an agent he'd take money from me but his advice on publicity may make it well worth it.

It's two different disciplines.

Agents take money based on a percentage of royalties paid by the publisher. An agent sells your book to a publisher.

Publicists charge an upfront fee. They have costs (ads, photo sessions, etc.) and no guarantee that your product will sell. A publicist sells you and interest in your product to the buying public.
