Is this really free speech?

Does the Phelps family really get to protest at servicemembers' funerals without repercussions? Looks like even the Supreme Court can't figure that one out.

It's " Disgusting !" These so called religious people
should be fined and jailed, their not religious or are
they tolerant of other people !

This is a tough one. We always hate it when those with whom we vehemently disagree exercise their 1st Amendment rights. I'm afraid the Supreme Court will have to find for the church and against the family. Unless they can find precedent in invasion-of-privacy rulings of the past.

The only consolation is that the rest of us have those same rights to picket and protest the actions of the church.

It is to be hoped that the media will elicit reactions to the case from all candidates at this time. Including those, such as Christine O'Donnell and others on the extreme right, who advance an anti-gay agenda. And those on the extreme left who consider the 1st Amendment to be sacrosant with respect to freedom of expression. Watch them all dance around this one.

I like the idea of picketing and protesting the church. Tit for Tat!
