The comments are as interesting as the article itself.

I think it is safe to say that Amazon's interests are firmly profit oriented and have nothing to do with helping authors get a better deal.

Thanks for the link. Interestiing article. I'm not sure why the author says Amazon has the best prices. B&N matches Amazon, and for a yearly membership fee of $25, B&N members get another 10% off. That's a viable savings for people who buy a fair number of books a year.

Amazon may well be becoming today's Standard Oil Company; all we need to do is wait for a modern Ida Tarbell to do a little muckraking, and then maybe the justice department will look closer at where this is leading.
