Thanks Abe! The amazing thing is that this is such a happy forum and yet members continue to post! Conflict spurs people to respond and results in active posting. What a credit to the members here who enjoy chatting together and sharing ideas without falling out!

Congratulations and Celebrations but me a tad confused, 'bout par for the course actually, you see I got the wonderful email about 100,000 hits, and Mazeltov, but at the top, after my email address after the: to: thang, the next line read:

reply to: do-not-reply@publishedauthors.org


Do I reply, or do I not reply to, do not reply, or if I mustn't reply, why does it say, reply to the address that says, do not reply?

Do I, Don't I? Don't I, Do I?
I am in a fix
Don't I, Do I, Do I, Don't I?
I'm dizzy I feel sick

Should I reply, it says do not
But then why say reply
Should I, Shan't I, Will, I Won't I

Yes, Shelagh, you have done a wonderful job and service to all of us. This is also a great group where discussion, not argument, is the key. No one seems to get too upset when someone disagrees with them, it just spurs more comments.

And questions are answered in an instructional way by those more familiar with the topic. I feel very at home here, among friends.

May I add my congratulations to you as well Shelagh - there are a lot of very active folks here to keep the forum flowing. If I had more time I'd be here more often - alas, I seem to be on the go and involved to the point I just am not here as much as I'd like to be. At any rate, you have done a wonderful job of moving things along here - - - YIPPEEE!

Thanks everyone! Don't worry Rick, my head isn't likely to swell. My biggest fan here went off in a huff, left the forum, left the network, removed me from his website, deleted me as a friend on myspace and facebook -- all in matter of days. Kinda helps me to get things in perspective. Here today, gone tomorrow.

Humph! Fame is supposed to be fleeting, not friends! But yes, things like that do help with perspective! I should think that most here do not have thin skins, though.

Tis true Shelagh, there are some finks here and there...it does help us to get ideas for interesting book characters though doesn`t it! :pirat: I did kind of wonder what happened there..strange how people come and go.

Indeed it does! If people didn't interfere in our lives, try to put us down, make fun of us and try to make fools of us, what would we write about? All part of life's rich tapestry.

Shelagh, thick skins are needed in this industry and yes it put things in perspective when the people we think are our friends do something like that. You would not have grown as you have, if you had not had a tough skin.

In many ways a thick skin is needed just to get through life without bcoming bitter and self absorbed. Of course, having a sense of humor/irony always does a body good as well.

I don't see much in the way of leathery skin in the avatars here, tho'.
