| 1/23/2010 Hi.... I juts came across an interesting subject, if a fan approached you, how would you sign your signature ?... The author wrote that with today's ID stealing it's not a good idea , I once with one of my books was going to have a hand written note included with my signature but a friend of mine told me " Don't do it ! " They could copy your signature. Me, I would sign it completely different ... Cheers...Joe... |

| D. K. Christi is a shortened version of my name and though filed as a legal alias, it has no personal history connected. If anyone copied my signature, D. K. Christi, it wouldn't open any doors except to help my name gain recognition :-) |

| When I sign my name it is so people can identify that it is me. My personal signature is quite different. |

| Something I learned about signing books -
The first time I took my books to an Audie Murphy convention, I had several buyers tell me that they only wanted my signature and a date, no short note. I was curious until I learned that those buyers were collectors, and the signature would be more valuable to them later on, when the book became a collector's item.

| Oh Alice and I was just about to throw myself at you in the street! I guess I'll just have to admire you from a distance then. |

| Once banks stopped paying attention to what my real signature looks like on the signature cards, I stopped worrying about it opening any doors for any thieves.
I can even sign my checks with an illegible scrawl and the things go through. Unlikely my signature on a book is worth a hill of beans for stealing my vast wealth. :-)

| If I were ever in a literary circle, I would be known as Wooffer's mom. That is how I sign. Not that I have worn a callous on my writing fingers, don't you know. Love, Betty |

| I usually just sign mine as follows: Warmest Regards, Richard Stanbery And sometimes I put a little note if they want one. I figure that one day it might be important to try and sign them all alike, pretty much. I wonder how Agatha Christie signed her fan books? |

| I generally like to add some sentiment. Like, "Up yours, geekboy" or something. Keep them from cashing in on my fame by re-selling the book. |

| I ask... Some folks want it signed to someone. Others just want just a signature. I usually write, My best, Rhett DeVane...or...Enjoy!
Plus, I use my nickname as my pen name, so my legal signature is quite a horse of a different color. |

| Which brings me to another issue...how do you sign an e-book? LOL I have had a few of my readers a bit aggravated that I can't put a signature on the upcoming vampire parody, to be released soon as an e-book. Maybe I could just sign their foreheads instead? Hm... |
