PostSubject: Potential titles   Potential titles EmptySat Jan 02, 2010 12:25 pm

Hi All Potential titles 973110
Is it only me? Am I wasting my time? Or does everyone do the same?
I've just finished my first book (not yet published); but already have five titles set up for new novels in my MS Word. With a few words setting out the plots. I keep adding to these plots (sometimes I get ideas from dreams). Embarassed Embarassed cyclops cyclops
All the potential stories are so so different, one historical (sorry two historical), one biography, one mystery, one fantasy fiction.......oops and one action drama!.... mmmmm that makes six, but I'm in two minds about the second historical novel, I may combine them into one.
The fantasy fiction is about the son of a comic, radio, tv, and film character; that is subject to copyright.
Do I have to get the copyright owners permission to write the book? Shocked Shocked

Titles are often a good launching point to fire your inspiration.
I have several such titles all works in progress that I move over to in between writing cycles.
Just keep doing what you are doing Luigie. It keeps the creative fire burning and helps ward off the old writers block.
If you get stuck on one story lay it aside and pick up something else for a while then you can go back with a fresh perspective. Potential titles Icon_smile
So No you are not wasting your time. Potential titles Icon_cool

Thanks for that encouragement, I was beginning to think I was a bit nuts. My wife thinks so. Sad Sad Sad
But now I'm vindicated, freed, alive and well....saved from the nut house; yay

Luijie,
depending on the publisher, the name you select may not be acceptable to them if it conflicts with other book titles.

The title I had for my first book was rejected for that reason. I then came up with three alternatives in order of preference and asked them to choose.
They indicated their preference and I went with that.

Hi Abe
Hmmm I hadn't thought of that: I hope my title doesn't conlict with any other book.
i think I'll google it and see what 'pops' up.
Thanks!
