As I have often said, anyone can post to forums. We are fortunate that Shelagh pays attention and watches out for our little group. Even our heated exchanges have an element of dignity to them.

I always find that people who name call and label have closed minds and are unable to use the wealth of language to better define their facts and their opinions.

Yet, harsh words have their impact. The old "sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me" is a lie. Words can be painful.

It takes courage to publish books and put oneself into the public arena of opinions, especially potentially controversial topics.

I've been on message boards for 20 years. Most don't take kindly to drop-in advertising. If you are an established member, that's something else. It doesn't sound like it, from the posted snippet.

I can always count on LC for the negative side.

I have been on that board for awhile, the post was about the Senate health care bill and had 60 replies and 480 views.

Wasn't trying to be negative. It didn't sound like they knew you, based on calling you a "goof" and a "radical."

We know you're not goofy and radical here.
