Talk about taking things personally, read this story on how an author employed her fans to hammer a reviewer who issued a review she did not like.

I'm not surprised by the author's reaction. It's not dissimilar to hysteria generated here when a writer's work is critiqued. She probably objected to the reviewer's bedside manner. Seems folks want to be smothered in sugar en route to reality.

What is so intersting about Hoffman is that she is a very well established and respected writer and five of her books have been made into movies.

Now when you search on her name on the internet, several articles on her twitter attack come up along with her accomplishments. She is providing more attention to the negative review than if she had left it alone. We have to be careful about cyber fights as they will be conducted in public and linger long after the anger has passed.
