The forum is #3

On the Information board, Sue posted: "Oh! So the object of this forum is not to share but to see how many posts you can get."

Today, I checked the placing of the forum in Literature and Poetry and saw that the forum is #3 on the list:

The number of topics, posts and points determine the listings. While the object of the forum is to share ideas, the number of topics/posts determines the exposure the forum receives. Well done everyone!

Actually, Shelagh, it isn't well done everyone, it's well done some of you.

According to the memberlist there are currently 344 members. 13 of those have over 1000 posts each which total 27,631. The next 9 members have between 1000 - 500 posts, and they total 6,545. The total number of posts for these 22 people is 34,176, which is the vast majprity of the posts.

If the other 322 members would get their post count up near the 1000 mark, the forum might go to number one. For whatever that means. I suspect it means more to you that it does to the 22 people who make most of the posts and are just here to interact with some people they like.

...you mean that they don't visit the forum to read my pearls of wisdom?

BTW, the forum at the top of the list, Poetry and Friends, has 102 registered users who have posted a total of 131,758 messages. Most forums have a small nucleus of posters with a large membership of visitors.

Well, hell, they apparently don't even read what Dick and I write, so how wrong is that?

I see that I have the up and down arrows over my head again. Oh well, that's pretty much how I feel most of the time anyway. I wonder what those things are?
