My name is Charles and I am a new author. My space opera will be published by Baen Books in about 18 months. Hopefully in six months I'll show up on their web page and their production schedule. Right now, my editor and I exchanging edits, drafts and rewrites.

I survived the slush pile and I'd be happy to answer any questions y'all may have.

I am a first time author, spent a lot of time in slush piles before getting an offer from Baen Books. By the time my book was bought by Baen, I had enough time to write another novel.

Escaping the slush pile was hard work. Some people think I am lucky. I consider it hard work. Write, revise, submit and while that one is doing the rounds, write, revise and submit another one. I had two going at once for a while and I had an excel spreadsheet to track 'em.

Once Baen accepted my novel, I didn't continue submitting with the second. Once this book is in production, I'll send my editor the second novel.
