| Gina, your bird has four toes. Most birds have three. Others 6 etc. I put this into the search bar....
How many toes dose a bird have?
Anything you need to know about birds seems to be here. This is one site that showed up on the page.
thewildclassroom.com/biodiversity/.../avianflightandlocomotion.html
Hope this helps. |

| I can recognize a robin, blue jay, bald eagle, mockingbird, and parakeet ... and not much more.
Maybe this will help:

| I know something about these prints. All prints will have a mat larger then the print, made from silk etc. Down both sides will be the story about the painting. It will have rolls on top and bottom. (wood, etc.) The bottom roll will have the story about the artist. Without this back mat and rolls, the painting could lose 90% of its value. I had a dealing with one from the year 1400. Butterfield Butterfield in San Francisco Can give you what info you need about these works...they are dealers in fine art. They also have an auction house. |

| Gina, best I can tell that is a bird, for sure. I used to love to feed birds. Now, since I no longer have any cats, I have nothing to feed the birds to. I hate birds. All birds. Two toes, three toes, four toes, or no toes. Two legs, four legs, no legs at all. I am an equal bird hater in that I hate them all. I don't eat birds. I don't eat chicken. They're too ugly. They're too dirty. Did I mention that I hate birds? I wish Sylvester would eat Tweety and get rid of that little yellow peckerwood for good. |

| Gina, I looked at the picture again. I'm pretty sure that is a Yellow Tailed Kamaze Mamasan Shushi Hopper. They are plentiful in Japan. Nippon katz eat them, many times for breakfast. These birds are very slow in the early morning, which makes them great breakfast catches. The Nippon katz that I have spoken with say these birds do not taste good, but they eat them because they are paid ten yen apiece to take them out of circulation. |

| Thanks for the links. The dusky thrush looks a bit dark on the back... I think. Not that I know one bird from another. I'm wondering if it might be a wagtail now... after looking at the wiki pages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:White-Wagtail.jpg I got totally sidetracked looking at all the pictures. Vultures are creeping-looking critters. |

| I like buzzards. They get no credit. They do have dignity. If not for them, airplanes would have taken a lot longer to appear. Not only that, they do keep the road kill under control. Love, Betty |

| I like buzzards also. They remind me of us men when we get old. No hair on top and perched on a park bench wreaking of death. Chickens remind me of women. Always traveling in packs with something to cluck about and Don I love chicken especially the breast meat sweet and savory. Before anyone drags out the cross and nails I'm only kidding folks. |

| We have Turkey vultures out here. And you are right about their appearnace, Nutter. The find a perch and then wait for a victim. They really know how to soar and their eyesight is quite keen. From your picture, Gina, I would not even hazard a guess. Birds vary so much from one area to another. Even the Jays here are different from those in the eastern and the southern states. I have never bothered to count the toes on any of the birds here, so that is not a clue for me. |

| I like fried chicken. Does that make me a bird fancier?
Malcolm
P.S. When I see birds posed like the one in your print, they're dead or else temporarily knocked out after hitting the kitchen window. |
