Books in libraries Empty
PostSubject: Books in libraries   Books in libraries EmptyMon Feb 18, 2008 3:08 pm

It is almost three years since Mr. Planemaker's Flying Machine was published and children are still taking it out of the library. I have twelve books in Libraries in Lancashire. Ten of those books are listed here on Talisprism. If you type in Shelagh Watkins for Author, you will see the books:

As you can see, one of the books is on loan. I check periodically and sometimes none of the books is out and at other times two books might be out at the same time. There is no feeling quite like it. Very Happy

That is so neat Shelagh! I just made arrangements to send a couple of my books to a library here - I think it'll be neat to share, and also perhaps get somebody keeping an eye out for my book -- aside from my sister, that is.

It is so exciting to see your book on a library shelf, eh?

I love libraries. Love the aroma of books. Love to just walk in and be with all of those words.

Rhett that's why I had to move most of my collection across the country with me last summer. Can't bear to part with them, and just don't get the same feeling from reading electronically. Besides, a laptop hurts when you roll over on it!! study

I think if I ever struck it rich, I would have to have a library in my home. I have books all over the place, and sometimes must make painful decisions on which ones to retain. The good thing is, there is always someone willing to lighten my load, and they continue on their journey. I enjoy sharing them as much as I did reading them.

And then, there are some I enjoy sharing more than I did reading them. Those are the ones I share readily.

We have a very good library network here, and four counties all share their books. I can order anything another county has, and they will even mail it to me. I have always loved the library.

We moved often when I was young, and it always afforded me the opportunity to devour more books.

Long live the library! I think my first card for a public library was when I was about 8, and it was a true eye opener!
