PostSubject: Woof   Woof EmptySun Jan 18, 2009 5:08 pm

I admit it - I found this site while googling to see what had happened to AW and stumbled across that rather interesting AW thread. I decided to register here because y'all have very cool emoticons.
In the interest of full disclosure (and so people don't ignore what I say because I haven't identified myself...)
My real full name is Carina MacDonald and I live in Michigan but I've lived a lot of places and grew up overseas. Among other things, I paint houses, train dogs and write. Mostly about dogs. I have one dog book published in 2003, which won Dog Writers of America's Best Book Under 100 Pages Maxwell award. I am currently working on three books for Globe Pequot under their new Knack banner. The first is available on Amazon for presale. (Knack Dog Care and Training.)
I lurk on AW sometimes - have posted a little as bonobo_jones. I've not even read the Publish America thread, so don't throw things at me. I'd never get any work done if I became a regular there! I don't know how people manage that.
I have four very charming dogs. Two Rottweilers, a JRT/cattle dog cross and a pit bull mix. And four cats who mostly boss the dogs around, except for the JRT cross who chases them. Jettisoned the man a while back, yay for me. I'm active in dog sports. I'm almost 51 and have red hair. I hate photos of myself so the avatar is not a close up, but a really silly agility shot. At least I think I uploaded an avatar.
I just registered a domain name so I could have a spiffy new writers website, but don't have it yet. Just the raw dog food book site, which is in my profile.
That good enough for full disclosure? Phew! I feel so unburdened now. Very Happy

Welcome, Carina! Anyone who loves dogs (and can tolerate cats) is okay in my book.

Carina, I like the Avatar, and concur with Brew. However, you can strike the 'tolerate' from his comment for me. (I am partial to cats and dogs both, but especially cats.Woof 94519 )

At any rate, welcome to the forum! Woof 591890 Woof 591890 Woof 591890

Thanks for the welcome, all! My cats are all reformed street strays who don't take crap from anyone, including Rottweilers and pit bulls.
Richard - ask away whenever you have a question! The pit bull mix is actually a foster dog and is available for adoption. Smile Gets along great with cats and writers...
Don - Standard poodles are great dogs (and I am all for the Obamas getting one.)

I'm off to poke around the forums a bit more before getting some work done...

Question: How do I get my signature to show up? I've put my name in the signature field and saved twice now, and it's still not there....?

Click on the profile button on the top menu bar. You will see the bold word information. Go over one to preferences, then click on the yes button when you get to the one that reads something like ALWAYS ADD MY SIGNATURE. Then click save at the bottom.

Edited to add: I may not have answered your question correctly. Drat!

Are you going to Profile, then signature, and then hitting save?

AHA! Thanks. I was going to profile > signature > save, but I guess I hadn't gone to the preferences tab and checked "always add my signature." That did the trick.
