PostSubject: Reaction to an emergency   Mon Oct 17, 2016 12:19 am

An incident happened yesterday that caused me to think about how we react in an emergency.  Sometimes we are capable of doing extraordinary things due to Adrenaline.

Yesterday I pushed my wife in her wheelchair outside the hospital to the parking lot for some fresh air.  Another man was sitting in a wheelchair and suddenly began jerking uncontrollably with his arms flailing and head jerking.  I literally ran into the hospital and yelled at the receptionist to get help.  Within minutes three people came running and attended to the man.  I wondered what happened to him.  Last evening my wife says she saw the man again in his wheelchair.  He recognized her and asked if it was her husband that came to his aid.  He wanted to say thanks for saving his life.  We learned that he had an epileptic seizure.
I am pleased that I was able to help.  At the same time I reflected on my own condition.  I walk slow with little energy as I go through the healing process from my heart operation.  My action/reaction to this emergency can only be attributed to adrenaline.

Well done, Abe! You made a big difference to someone else's life; there can be no greater feeling.

Continue to heal as prescribed.  I'm so glad you were able to help the man.  Sometimes we are capable of so much more than we think, even in the healing process.  The body has so much we do not understand, and likely won't in this lifetime.

Thank you both for your comments and encouragement.  With all the problems in the world along with politics, nothing is more important than being alive.  I thought it was the end for me, but now believe there is a purpose in my survival and that there is something more I need to do.  I just don't yet know what that is.

I echo our friends' comments above. We are capable of far more than we realize whether through the temporary "super powers" that adrenaline can provide and/or through the intervention of unseen forces beyond our five senses. Either way, you made a difference--doubtless not for the first or last time--to another human being in need. May these good acts come back to you in your time of need a hundred fold in similarly mysteriously wonderful ways.

Thank you Victor.  Reaction without forethought may to be the answer.
