Blood Pressure reading. (Your smile for today)

Since the Doctor said that my BP should not exceed 160, my wife suggested that I take regular readings on the wrist BP gadget we have.

The first reading I took on Tuesday and it was 156/89.  I was pleased that it was under 160.
Today after lunch and a nap, I decided to take my BP while my wife was still sleeping.  The reading was something like 290+ and I knew that couldn’t be right.  I turned off the gadget and tried again.  It read 271/182.  The machine has a voice box and it said “Stark erhoelt” (extremely high).  I was expecting blood vessels to start bursting everywhere.  I was planning to take a shower and decided to wake my wife and have her take the BP again, explaining that I may have done something wrong.  She put on the apparatus and the reading was: 134/93.
I was relieved.  Then I told her what had happened and said that I didn’t want to waste my time and the water with a shower if that reading was correct.  She started laughing and we both wound up laughing our heads off.  Even as I write this when she looks at me she breaks out laughing.  We had our laughter for today.  It made me decide to have the operation after all and not be constantly worried about the aortic vessel bursting.

Great decision to have the surgery.  Do it now.
Far better than fretting over blood pressure.
We like you, Abe.

Alice, I have decided to do it, but will go with the suggestion of the surgeon to wait until the weather is a bit cooler, assuming that there are no further complications in the interim.  I'm guessing that September would work, but scheduling will determne that.

Thanks to all of you for your advice and support.  As Shelagh said, laughter is good medicine.
Gisela was putting clothing into the wash machine and wanted to know if I thought it worthwhile for her to wash my undies and T-Shirts.  Another sesson of laughter.  I don't think this episode is going to end anytime soon. Laughing
