Islamic terrorists or Christian terrorists.  Evil people exist is all religions as well as those with no religious preference.  Keeping religion out of politics/government is what the founding fathers intended.  I am opposed to the reference to any religion, positive or negative.

I agreed with Abe about the pain of losing a child, but I do not share his views about naming Muslim women. If they insist upon wearing clothes that distinguish them according to their religion, they cannot complain if they are identified as such.

Yes, Jewish men wear the kippah, for instance.

In the Bahamas they simply made a law that schools would teach the Christian religion and Bible stories and say prayers to open school, at lunch and to close school.  Those of other religions had to participate if they wished to attend public school. Otherwise they had to go to their own religious schools.  I taught in the system and it was fun to have a Christmas play that the whole community attended.  Prayers were a calming devise that helped students settle in.  I asked the superintendent about it and he said a little religion at school was better than none.  Once they left school, the families could do as they pleased.

There are many religions that have conflicts with sectarian activities and pledging to a country instead of God.  I say, stand and be silent but still show respect.  However, I am not a person of specific religious doctrine so I'm not emotionally attached to what will send me to heaven or hell.  I just muddle along best I can and learn as I go from the world. Baptists gave me my moral compass though I don't follow the religion.  Catholics gave me symbols - and sometimes holding a Rosary is quite comforting. Buddhists gave me meditation.  and so on...

I have no problem with teaching religion in school, however for it to be educational it must be non-sectarian.  Faith/believe is a comfort for many.

Rio declares fiscal emergency for Olympics.   Bridges have collapsed, the water ways designated for the swimmers to use are polluted.  Russian track team is banned from competition due to drug testing.  Fans “Hooligans” causing havoc at the Euro (Soccer) cup in France and have placed their respective teams in jeopardy of being eliminated from competition.  (Russia and the UK have been notified).
In the meanwhile, terrorists are active in politics.  The MP killed in the UK is just another sad event that boggles the mind.

The world is in chaos, Abe.

It is not just sad, but horrible that the the MP in the UK was murdered for political reasons.  The upcoming vote to Stay In the EU or to Leave is causing much dissention, but to resort to extreme measures that involved killing is not acceptable in any society.  That said, there are times when citizens must stand up for what they believe and challenge the government.  We expect that to occur in a peaceful manner, however when that fails, extreme measures may become necessary.  I often get the urge to inflict punishment on those who threaten to cut my SS income.  Threats, unless challenged, can become a reality.  Having regrets for failing to take action are useless. 
Several years ago I wrote about a Veteran friend who was dying from cancer and expressed his feelings about taking action against those responsible for his lack of healthcare.  He said:  "I have nothing to lose, I'm going to die unless I get help.  I may take out a few of those bastards in Washington who are denying me my Veteran rights."
He eventually did get help from the VA, but it was too late.  They helped relieve his pain with Morphine along with Chemo treatments in his final days.  I wondered what would have happened if he had taken drastic action.  Would he have become a martyr that would have benefited others in a similar situation? 
There can be no justification with killings for religious beliefs.  History is full of that shit.  It appears that many have not evolved.  Solving problems or inflicting punishment by killing continues.  There are no bounds with acts of desperation.

Jo Cox's death was sad, Abe, especially so because her killer had suffered from mental problems most of his life. He had been unemployed for over thirty years, spending his time doing gardening in the neighbourhood, and voluntary work teaching English as a second language to immigrant children. He was a loner who spent a great deal of time in the local library, the place where he was standing outside when the MP arrived and stepped out of her car.

He was Scottish by birth, had a mixed-race half brother, suffered from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), lived alone, and was unemployed. The irony of the killing, in light of the fact that Jo Cox had set up a campaign to help the lonely and isolated members of the community, makes the brutality of her death all the more difficult to understand.

It states when the Govt. gets out of line and no longer represents the people, the people can
and will dissolve the Govt. and start all over, so politicians change your attitude the people are
going to vote you out of office....
